That .2 inches of height reduction is going to be HUGE advantage sitting on my entertainment rack.

And now I can take out the reinforcements since the Apple TV won't break my entertainment rack due to the massive weight of it.

This is one device I'd actually prefer being a little heavy. So that it stays put and doesn't slide around so easy when cords get tugged.

Weighing less is actually a downgrade in a stationary device that has cables coming out of it (which can pull on it).

a little annoying yes, we still use 3rd gens and they get moved constantly- cat walks behind tv cabinet and cables get pulled lol. not too big of a deal though

You don't typically stream 4K video for hours on end on your iPhone. The SOC cools down between spikes of high utilization, and if it is used for too long a period, you get an overheating warning.

Never noticed my Apple TVs had fans. I guess they must be super quiet or never run.

aTV has some fans in this world ...

That is a huge weight saving for shipping pallets of them.

As customer that is always my number one concern. I don't need or want cool new features. It is purely about the pallet weight in the warehouse. SMH

Are you serious? Do iPads have fans, do iPhones need fans?

ipad and iphones are not connected to 110v connection. ipad and iphone when connected to a tv they're not going full 4K (except the new m1+m2 ipad pro) but even when you do notice how much they heat up.
Heat in electronics = aging failure

If the A15 uses 4GB Ram rather than 3GB like the A12 Bionic, then maybe your library will show more listed.

Not sure if this A15 is the 4 core or 5 core GPU SOC being used, either way its graphics should be faster.

Does HDR10+ require new hardware or is it a software only update? Will the current models quietly get it soon.

Smaller means crap - more efficient means crap unless I see it on the screen - I don't even use the Apple remote

So I am not seeing "decent upgrade" more like "barely an upgrade"

…And both of those have 4GB onboard memory, right? Or would it have been worth their while to engineer a 3GB version? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Why would they make it lighter? The HDMI cables are so heavy and stiff, I have trouble getting the Apple TV to stay in place. It should be heavier, not lighter. Geez, what is happening with Apple's UX department?
