Day 3(4?) of people finding ways as customers to defend a company for padding their profit margin.
The new Apple is all about cutting cost and nickel and diming their users, and most don't seem to mind.It will happen since I don’t own any USB-C devices.
Look I love Apple but they can be major hypocrites too.
No problem here since it saves a huge number of cables and charging bricks from needing to ever be manufactured. The new Apple is all about cutting cost and nickel and diming their users, and most don't seem to mind.
Reduce RRP of product by $20 + omit ~$3 cable = padding profit margin.Day 3(4?) of people finding ways as customers to defend a company for padding their profit margin.
I get not including chargers anymore but not including the cables is BS. But there's a price reduction so there's that, I guess?
Why is a cable needed more than a charger? I don’t believe there’s many people who are buying this and don’t own a USB C cable.
Isn't the idea of moving to USBC so that you only need one cable for everything? So you just need to use one of your ‘scattered around’ cables?I actually own very few USB-C cables, and they are scattered around. I would love it if Apple had a recycle program where we could give them back lightning cables to partially get USB-C cables. But that is too consumer friendly
I'm sure Brazilian lawyers are chattering about it alreadyYoure mixing apples and oranges here.
1. Every manufacturer will provide you a cable to hook your screen(hdmi, vga, etc.). Otherwise you wouldnt be able to use it. But imagine buying a computer screen or TV without a cable to even power up the damn thing.
2. I am very happy that youre an adult, and that you own other cables. But what about people, that dont own any usb-c cable? You really think everybody has one lying around in their house? Lets not fool ourselves here, if all you ever bought in last 10 years were iPhone, Macbook and Apple Watch, you didnt get any USB-c cables. And now suddenly you need one in order to even use the device!
3. I'm sure somebody somewhere in USA will popup, and sue apple for this, because they actually have a case here - Apple has sold them a device, for which they have no means of charging it, and eventually using it. What you have, because youre an adult, doesnt mean that everybody else is in the same position.
I have enough extra power cords to last a lifetime.Youre mixing apples and oranges here.

They will have to buy one. According to MR they are ubiquitous and should be easily and cheaply available.2. I am very happy that youre an adult, and that you own other cables. But what about people, that dont own any usb-c cable?
I have other battery operated devices that require usb c.You really think everybody has one lying around in their house? Having a case is different from winning a case.3. I'm sure somebody somewhere in USA will popup, and sue apple for this, because they actually have a case here - Apple has sold them a device, for which they have no means of charging it,
I still see products that don’t include a battery.and eventually using it. What you have, because youre an adult, doesnt mean that everybody else is in the same position.

Have you seen how many usb-c cables there are? 1 for every occasionIsn't the idea of moving to USBC so that you only need one cable for everything? So you just need to use one of your ‘scattered around’ cables?
So in the UK the price of the remote is still £59 despite the cable being removed. If I was to buy the said cable, that would be another £19. Irrespective of having other USB-C cables lying around. A £59 remote has now gone up in price to £78.I welcome a reduction in price and the possibility of ordering a cable in the box, but in our modern world most people own multiple devices, most of which usb-c.
I'm not trying to be an apple apologist; I'm especially angry with their preposterous price increases in Europe.
USBC leads can be had for a LOT less than £19.So in the UK the price of the remote is still £59 despite the cable being removed. If I was to buy the said cable, that would be another £19. Irrespective of having other USB-C cables lying around. A £59 remote has now gone up in price to £78.
This does remind me of the time Apple removed the Power cord from the box and banged them out for an additional £19.

Yep, costs and waste need to be reduced. It’s far more! $47 to be exact.
Remember, they removed the $9 Lightning adapter, $19 EarPods, and the $19 power adapter. Stickers reduced to one.
Sadly, it’s Apple’s MO.
