Anyone know if it’s actually possible to get notifications on the Apple Watch without an iPhone? Looking at the dancing woman, she has no iPhone.

I'm surprised to see so much negativity here.
You really shouldn't be... that's the "in" thing now, especially when it comes to Apple. Jaded, cynical, unimpressed by everything...

If you're in a known wifi location, yes. Works very well.

how about an ad where your OS X El Capitan is filled with bugs?

you kidding? Have you tried freaggin Win 10? or even 8 or 8.1? Every morning i have cold sweat booting my PC wondering if it will reinstall my printer for the 35th f**king time and if i'll have to delete the previous install and reconfigure all my apps to use the new one as default. When it's not that, it's one (or more) of my 8 monitors that disconnect for no reasons. Then i need to fdsfkdjfksdljf reboot my PC 9 times until it SUDDENLY (for no apparent reason) restart with my monitors all ON and in proper alignments. What else... ah yeah, again, on my multi-monitor setup, when i drag windows across screens, for some reason the cursors becomes 100 pixels out-of bound of where i grabbed the window on the first place. Or my microsoft wedge keyboard that disconnect for no fkfjdsfjdskj reason, which again require me to wast 30 min f***ing around to get it to be SEEN, and then reconnected by windows. What a total piece of garbage..... the ONLY reason im still on a PC as my main work computer is because a 8 monitor Mac is either impossible or stupidly (8000$) expensive (vs 3000$).

My Macbook pro on the other part has little to no bugs. Ever. Apart when i use Kindle for mac, but that's just because kindle for mac is f***ing garbage.

you complain because you don't know what you have man. I'll ship you a PC with win 8 and i swear you'll never ever complain that mac is buggy ever again. ever.

Not one of those Ads showed the ability of taking a selfie. If it can't do a basic function as that then it's a failure.:)

What's the brand of the scooter?

Anyone who thinks that these adverts are good are just kidding themselves.

These adverts are just as laughable as the overpaid marketing freaks that present these ideas. Apple will still sell watches, but these adverts do nothing to promote the Apple Watch features in full, or get people excited about buying one.

Take the new iPhone 6s advert. That is brilliant. It's fast and to the point. It shows off all of the features quickly and brilliantly. One of the best adverts that Apple has approved in a long time.

These made no impression on me whatsoever.

Just in time. Seems like the Watch was losing its initial buzz. Although I have been tempted, I decided against the Apple Watch, partly because of Apple's track record with first generation products. I am keen to see what Apple comes up with Apple Watch 2.

Who cares about buzz? Buy the product because you want to use it. I have an Apple Watch and to be perfectly honest with you I think most of the so called "tech writers" are full of it and themselves are ignorant of the potential of the Watch. Battery life is really all day, activity tracking will help you lose weight and be more fit if you actually commit to it, notifications are awesome (I turned off email, I don't see the point, just messages/FB messenger) and I want to wear it all day long. If you're on the fence, buy one and try it out and return it within 14 days if you don't like it. Reading about it or playing with it at the store isn't informative enough to decide if you'll like it.

I guess single mothers are another market target for Apple. Double arm sleeve dude doesn't seem to be the kids dad. Girls just want to have fun though right?

Not a fan of these ad's... The first set in "real world environments" were way better... Have a pretty hard time relating to a scooter racing in front of a green screen

You could argue that "Sing" and "Cycle" and "Sprinkle" are just Apple following the competition with verb-titled watch ads. After all, Samsung started it a couple years ago with its Galaxy Gear Watch ad, "Stalk"... : )

about to write something about that...GGG is the middle weight champion of the world, most feared boxer on the planet...should have been highlighted on the commercial...and macrumors could have shown a little more respect than just "boxer"
Thank you!! Exactly what I was thinking... But if it was mayweather, his name would be all over it.

Pretty ads but extremely weak convincing, when you consider that the starting price is half an iPhone 6S. The money-conscious and informed citizen will think "but I can do all that on my phone just fine". The scooter case is the only scenario where the hands-free is really useful, but for the price of the watch I could buy the friggin scooter itself AND a dedicated gps.

THIS is how you advertise electronic jewelry.

I agree with the poster who said this is A-Game advertising. In 15 seconds, they set a unique look that I can't say matches anything else on TV and managed to show blip of relevant functionality. Nothing about 3rd party apps (as they don't work amazingly well), just quick notifs, fitness, Apple Pay. And it's all done in a stylish and feminine tone, which is rare for electronics ads -- which are usually skew masculine.

I can see them not being a hit on this board, but they're not going after dudes that hang out on MacRumors. Fascinating to watch.

Yes I agree, I enjoyed them and there much more up beat than the ads we saw at the start of the year.

Completely anecdotal - conversations amongst friends, relatives etc and the fact that the only Apple Watch I have seen so far was on an Apple employee's wrist.

I see them every day now in Singapore. On the subway, at bars, in client meetings, and seen a couple of runners down by the river with them on too. Personally I'll be more interested when v2 comes around though.

As for the ads they are decent. The date one is super cheesy, but I accept I'm probably not the target audience for that one!

Am I the only one that hates these? The date commercial is ridiculous. If this is what the team apple chose made... maybe they need better people picking the team.

guess we a completely different set of commercials..... now THIS is a good commercial IMHO: http://www.ispot.tv/ad/ALwI/delta-airlines-the-other-side

"Date" ad shows everything what's wrong with us right now. You are on a freakin date with a real person no reason to send unimportant texts or receive clutter and absolutely no reason to "never miss a text" when you are spending a tender time with an actual human being. Reminds me of an ad of two girls that are went out in a night club and they are sending emojis to each other while being next to each other. If that's the best your product can do than its a city product.

Have there been any Sam's Club offers for Apple Watch yet? I'm wondering if I can turn in yesterday's iPhone in for one.:)

I love the hell out of Apple but I'm not a fan of these ads. Looks like something Samsung would do to me. I miss the old ads that had so much emotion in it. You would get close up with whatever product Apple was advertising and they would have this serious tone to it that made you feel whatever you were looking at was truly revolutionary.

This? They're ok. But the won't be memorable in t minus 1 minute
