Just in time. Seems like the Watch was losing its initial buzz. Although I have been tempted, I decided against the Apple Watch, partly because of Apple's track record with first generation products. I am keen to see what Apple comes up with Apple Watch 2.

apple watch 2? it will be thinner...

Pretty ads but extremely weak convincing, when you consider that the starting price is half an iPhone 6S. The money-conscious and informed citizen will think "but I can do all that on my phone just fine". The scooter case is the only scenario where the hands-free is really useful, but for the price of the watch I could buy the friggin scooter itself AND a dedicated gps.

And you can save the money from the phone by using cash, a paper map, and writing a letter. So?

You're surprised? Are you new to this board? Half of the posters aren't even Apple users, they're just trolling.

Oh please, calling people 'trolls' just because they diasagree with you is in itself a form of trolling. Ive owned Apple products for a couple decades and at this moment own 3 macbook pros an imac, an iphone, 5 apple tvs, etc.

I happen to think the apple watch is lame. If expressing my opinion on that makes me an 'anti apple watch' troll, then I guess you posting positively about it makes you a 'pro apple watch' troll.
So we're all trolls I guess, if we have an opinion.

"Date" ad shows everything what's wrong with us right now. You are on a freakin date with a real person no reason to send unimportant texts or receive clutter and absolutely no reason to "never miss a text" when you are spending a tender time with an actual human being. Reminds me of an ad of two girls that are went out in a night club and they are sending emojis to each other while being next to each other. If that's the best your product can do than its a city product.
I interpret 'Date' as parents on a date night who received a message from the baby sitter of their sleeping child.
[edit] In fact it clearly says 'babysitter' on her watch! How could you miss that?
Some parents find that very important. I know I do.
Some may not care.

In half cases, as someone pointed out, they are trolls. MR really needs to fix this, too many rotten bugs spoiling the forums.

Ethnic cleansing - meet opinion cleansing.

As someone who disagrees with you about the apple watch, the way this sounds is that you would like a site where anyone who doesnt agree with YOU and is uncritically pro-Apple all the time - they should be eradicated from these forums.

Hmm, how about instead we 'cleanse' all of obviously doe-eyed uncritical people who never find fault with Apple from these forums?

I really hate the negativity on this forum and lately I have had to put a lot of extremely negative people on my ignore list.
You really shouldn't be... that's the "in" thing now, especially when it comes to Apple. Jaded, cynical, unimpressed by everything...

My negativity has nothing to do with anything other than my dislike for the ad series. We are free to discuss opinion on here, and I am not really attacking anyone that likes the ads, nor am I attacking the products. Like many of the past Apple ads, there are differences of opinion.

To me, These ads feel too dark, too alternate reality, and lack the vibrancy and energy of many previous Apple ad campaigns. But, I do understand that times change, and so do styles of entertainment , trends, as well as other factors that make ads feel modern.

In the end, I am happy to see so many like the ads, and feel they work. That means that someone in Cupertino did their job, and made an ad that speaks to many of their customers. I am likely still stuck in the past :(

By now with the rumors of a second version next summer, I would agree with you. I love my watch but yeah, it has some deficiencies. Needs more power and more battery life as every tech product ever will. Probably could also use built-in GPS to somehow broadcast its location if stolen.

But yo, once Apple Pay hits a few more big stores -- I'm looking at you, Target -- it will be well worth it. Sure, you can do it with your phone. But two taps of a button and then tapping a POS device with my wrist is so damn easy. If Apple were to ever open this up to third parties or just P2P money transfers, that would be amazeballs.

Yep, let's speed up the release of the real device, the Watch 2.
This must be the last marketing push to try to move as much as possible.

You want to know a good barometer of when a device is not a success?
Check Best Buy, where they just started selling it like a month ago, and see all the Apple Watches with yellow open box tags on them from people who tried it.

they cut out over 30 minutes of footage that showed the Apple Watch was loading.

When I think of Apple Watch, I am reminded of this old SNL commercial for Mac post-it notes. The quality of the recording is terrible, but I love the wait for startup. "The post-it note for the rest of us".

How is it hands free?

I can take my iPhone out of my pocket and take advantage of essentially all its features with one hand.

With the Watch, you need to engage both hands to do anything other than glance the time and some complications -- and even then you can't do anything with the hand you wear your watch under while you're glancing.

The iPhone isn't hands free by any stretch but the Watch is even less so.

Errr, Siri?...

Welcome to MR Forum. In here, most people think they are the expert and should run Apple company instead of Tim. Or designed Apple products instead of John. Or this case, create an Ads. Sadly, the truth is, none is ever qualified (far from it). Talk is easy :D

Yes to everything in this post!

Mom - if your child drops their ice cream they learn a valuable lesson about gravity, loss, hardship, and taking care of your ice cream. What are you, made of money?

Either one of you have kids? Pro-tip: "What's that got to do with anything" is not the right answer :D

So your out on a date, but your a single parent and you leave your child home with a baby sitter. And your saying getting a text that your child is ok and is sleeping is unimportant??????? Yeah maybe what's wrong with "US" is really what's wrong with You.

Not in my experience. I keep on meeting people who have just purchased the watch. I think it's doing better than ever.

Watch has issues, it really does (I'm a power user). But I'm still getting, is that the Apple Watch? Say yes and get cool, neat, I want one. So no way is it dieing down. The biggest reaction I get is when I use Apple Pay. People usually freak. Really crazy, it's like they think I'm some super person from the future. For me Apple Pay is one of the best features of the phone next to fitness. I love logging my gym workouts with watchOS 2 app gymaholic

Why the heck to you own 3 MacBook Pros and 5 Apple TVs? Makes me wonder about the truth of the statement...there are after all a lot of folks out there being paid to post anti-Apple stuff on the web. Just sayin'

I think another poster got this right. These are NOT aimed at MacRumors readers. They are aimed at non-tech savvy women. They are IMHO very well made for that purpose and used in the right forum (no pun intended) I think they will be quite effective.

I have an Apple Watch and love it - Apple Pay and updates on texts during meetings being my favorite features. It is certainly not a necessity but works great for what it does.

Basically @vladi considers getting laid more important then their child's wellbeing...
