Yes - Face ID works fine most of the time.Face ID is so transparent to me I don't even think about it when I pick up my iPhone or iPad.
The "unlock with Apple Watch" feature on macOS can be a bit hit and miss though. Otherwise works fine.
Happy to fill in the blanks.Curious which Garmin your partner got? What is you partner’s usage pattern (things like how many notifications a day, if any, how many and how long are long are the GPS workouts a day? Does you partner always carry a phone when using the watch?)?
Of course not, I don’t upgrade yearly. Heck, I held off for 5 years last time and could have held off longer.Just because it is updated yearly doesn’t mean you need to buy one.
And Ultra hasn’t been updated in 2 years …

The problem is that it is functionally not upgraded yearly, just rebranded. The Apple Watch is on a 2, sometimes 3, year upgrade cycle. You would push more consumers to upgrade on a 24 month upgrade cycle, possibly increasing sales.
Correct, and I am lobbying for them to skip yearly upgrades given the fact that they just rebrand the same device. The Apple Watch S11 for instance, is the same as the S10.You’re taking about the S.E.?
That’s not true as a general statement. They do upgrade it yearly for the most part. And even the S.E. doesn’t get a yearly re-brand.
The S.E. no, and the Ultra they missed a year, but in general the watch has yearly upgrades.

Yes, it’s the same device with a water temperature detector as that comparison shows. If we’re going by the rumors, the S11 appears to be the same as the S10, which is why Apple now talks about “generations” with Apple Watched as being 3 years. Best to just skip three watches per generation and keep it to one or two.The series 11 isn't out yet.
Are you saying that the S10 and S9 are the same? That is incorrect. Apple has a comparison feature here:

I suppose offering a new color is different, but it’s still just rebranding the same device with no performance improvement, redesign, battery improvement, etc.Well they're all the same then if you don't consider the differences. All laptops are the same. All cars are the same. All phones are the same. All iPads are the same.
I do agree that every 3 generations is typically a larger leap. I don't buy ever year, nobody is forcing you too either and I hope you're leveraging that self control.
That doesn't make them the same device though.
