1) can someone confirm? although I'm almost sure it will only come with a charging cable inside the box but no charger

2) holiday season is around the corner (Black Friday etc), any chances this will go on sale/discounts of any kind?

It will just be a charge cable - if you don’t get a charger with a $1000 iPhone 12 then you ain’t getting one with $50 headphones. Also Beats X never came with a charger, just a cable.

I thought they might be defective but (when they they will still in the warranty period) I did some research and found a lot of people reporting poor battery life.

I had three pair myself. My mom had a pair and my sister still in uses her’s all got the stated battery life. None were all short lived as yours.

Interesting! Seems like I had bad luck then.

So are we in agreement that for $50 you can't beat this deal for quality and value if all you need is a bluetooth neckband earbuds with pause/volume features on the band?

Not because I'm trying to save on every dollar, just because I hate buying things and if I can avoid having to buy another pair, well that would be ideal.

But of course saving money is not bad thing in any circumstance.

Yes, although only as regular Bluetooth headphones, the easy pairing features won’t work and you’ll have to pair them the old fashioned way.

If you pair them up the old fashioned way with an Ipod Nano 7th generation, do they stay linked with that Nano, meaning I won't have to pair them up every time I power up the Nano correct?

That's right, once you pair them the first time after that they should automatically connect when you turn them on as long as your Nano has bluetooth on and is in range.

Definitely.
Also it charges via USB-C and not lightning like it was with BeatsX. So it may/ may not affect use case, just worth noting.

Thats good timing - my Beats X died last week. Beats updater shows them as fully charged but they won't turn on so it looks like the power switch has died.
Am I the only one who has terrible battery with their beats x? I get like 4 hours. And tons of standbye drain.

Perhaps I got a bad pair

Wonder if the beats flex improved vastly on the battery

I’ve only seen a couple complaints about short battery life. The bigger issue seemed to be one of the earbuds eventually losing sound and/or the headphones eventually not turning on at all.

Mine are several years old and the battery has deteriorated from daily use throughout that period but I still get probably 6 hours of use out of them; they don’t discharge rapidly when they’re not being used as long as I’ve turned them off.

I got some about 3 weeks ago and sadly battery life is like 4 hours. Maybe 5 on medium listening volume.

Do you think I should exchange them for a new pair? I have the applecare.

Since yours are older maybe they were made better back then

The BeatsX do drain on standby, you need to turn them off when not in use, this reduces overall battery life. Hopefully they fixed it with the Flex

Yep my pair that I bought pretty much when beats x first came out 3.5 years ago just died with the “won’t turn on” issue. They show as fully charged in beats updater when plugged into my Mac, and after so much use that full charge was still giving me about 4 or 5 hours which I thought was pretty decent.

Beats Flex are due to arrive on Thursday for 1/3 the price I paid for the Beats X.

I find BeatsX ideal for falling asleep while listening to quiet music with my head between two pillows! (They act as ear plugs if I turn the music off.) However, the build quality around the remote assembly is awful. I’m on my third pair because the remote became unusable.

Hopefully Beats Flex are better built because I’ve just ordered some.

My Beats Flex just arrived. The sound quality is atrocious. They are significantly worse than my wired EarPods. They are not even worth $49. I’m very disappointed and I’m sending them back.

I’ve been using my new beats flex all day, and I do think the sound quality is downgraded from the BeatsX. It sounds a little shallower and there seems to be much less bass. Maybe that was one of the cuts they had to make (along with reusing the W1 chip) to get the price down so low. I don’t know if the different size ear buds make a difference, but I’m using the smallest. The battery life is as advertised. I listened for about 10 hours straight and ended up with the battery at 17%. Very impressive. Maybe the extended battery life is also made possible by the sound quality downgrade (just guessing). The magnet auto-pause/sleep feature is pretty cool. I love the control buttons on the neck base (instead of on the wire) and the new slightly raised power button. I can actually find the button by feel now and pressing it is much easier. Little things can make such a big difference. Everything else is pretty much exactly like the BeatsX, which is good.
The sound quality downgrade was not ideal, but at the price it’s not too shocking. The headphones are still very worth it for me as I wasn’t looking to get great sound quality out of these in the first place. They serve their purpose for how I use them. But anyone who wants high quality bluetooth audio, you’ll probably want to get different (I’m guessing more expensive) headphones.

edit-
I should add I mostly listened to talking audio today. My audio test was only based on two songs actually, so not very thorough. And I don’t want to make it sound like the audio was bad. It was still pretty clear and crisp, just not full as I remember my beatsX sounding.

Mine arrived this morning so only used them for an hour or so. Bass definitely seems reduced compared to the Beats X but that isn't necessarily a terrible thing as I found the X could be a bit too bassy at times. Sound quality is possibly a little bit reduced but isn't terrible and I found that turning off Sound Check in the Music app settings made a big difference on that front.

Yes, not terrible. I edited my post to clarify in case I gave that impression.

Mine arrived this morning and have been using them a few hours. Overall I like them and especially for the price. Now I need to find a USB to USB-C adapter.

I received mine today... and i am not an audiophile, But I think the sound is good for a pair of $50 Bluetooth earphones, I prefer to wear these in the greasy, wet, nasty kitchen where I work rather than my $250 APP without hesitation... I monkey around headphone/audio under audio/visual inside of the accessibility settings and I think it got it to sound a bit better, just my 2 cents
