Just noticed that one of the volume buttons is missing on my replacement bumper and of course, I can't find the button. And with that, the end has come for this failed experiment.

Real shame, since this is the best looking case I've put on my iP4.

I'd even pay $30 if Apple came out with the same transparent/black style bumper.

I'm going back to the trusty Hula case that has never failed me and it's sitting there, waiting for it's chance to shine again, every time I open up my socks drawer... lol :D

Of course losing the buttons is a problem, but a couple of drops of super glue and 5 minutes of your time before they fall off makes the transparent/black bumper my favorite case, and the only one I use now.

I think I have decided to sever ties with sw-box. I have placed over $1,500 in orders and they have messed up so many orders. Sending me wrong product so often. They have higher quality cases sure but they are still Chinese knockoffs and have major quality control issues. Their support is pretty unrealistic for most people as they force you to send everything back first.

Their docks that fit bumpers really have problems with audio out and failure rates. It's pissing me off how much money I have lost due to sw-box quality :/

Their cases have become super problematic with keeping the power button held down and fitment issues. It's a shame really.

Only one very minor issue so far :)

I've ordered 2 of the bumpers from them. A transparent-clear/white and a transparent-orange/white. Both were extremely tight when I first put them on so after reading this thread I "pushed" on the sleep buttons until they gave a little. Ever since then they have fit fine. Haven't lost any buttons or had any other fitment issues at all.

My only issue has been with my transparent-clear bumper the white rubber has stained a bit from the blue in my jeans pocket. I'm not sure what to do about that. I've thought about taking a pencil eraser to it but I'm not sure if that would help. Anyone have similar staining issues? Might just be the cheapness of the case. I mean for $3.20 you can't really expect the best quality material :p

You can try to use a Mr.Clean Magic Eraser but very lightly

How They Can Be So Low Priced

Ha.. fair enough :p ... I ordered 3, so if they're crap then I'll be here retracting this whole thread! I just hope they don't lift my screen protectors like the ebay bumpers. It's my only fear!

A lot of these products come from the same mold as many of the brand names so the quality is very good. In Shenzhen it costs them less than $1 to buy the case which gives them a very nice percentage return but they need to do volume. They also make money on the shipping but lose out on the fast delivery which upsets customers. This kind of seller will soon be replaced by the next generation of low priced sellers which are the China factories selling direct to you using the same dilvery from Hong Kong but maybe soon with warehouses in the USA so you don't have to wait so long. This business is moving fast to cut out all of the middle men including Walmart.

Received my latest order from SW-Box yesterday.

I ordered an extra black/clear bumper, and just like the others, all three buttons were effortlessly popped free with a pin. I expected this, and three drops of super glue (along with 5 minutes of my time) secured them permanently.

I also ordered the black dock that works with bumpers. While it does do that, it imparts a serious hum in my audio system when using both the 30-pin for charging and the line-out jack. It would make a great charger only, but is useless for audio. I had previously ordered the white version that doesn't work with bumpers, but with a little modification got it to work with bumpers and produces great sound.

Also picked up a couple of the anti-glare screen protectors, and while they fit well and do prevent fingerprints and such, they significantly degrade the quality of the retina display. For the time being I'll use it, but I may go back to a clear one.

Yeah, that's pretty typical. I had an antiglare on my iPad but I took it off..... I couldn't deal with the decreased screen quality.

I've been using one of the regular clear screen protectors that I bought from them for a while, and it's surprisingly excellent.

What did you do to the white one to make it fit?
I started with a Dremel tool and a small grinding bit and rounded out the left and right sides of the recessed area to allow for a little greater width. Then thinned out some of the plastic in the bottom on either side of the connector. Works great now.

Figured as much.

I am just so pissed at sw-box for selling these black docks. They are so defective it's not even funny.

You can't listen to iPhone sounds while it's plugged in.
The line out is useless as it puts so much noise in the line.
The 30-pin connection breaks usually after a week or 2 and stops reading the iPhone. Sucks. Especially because sw-box pretty much sucks at customer service and we really can't do anything if you live in the states.

I checked out their site and yes the prices are good because they shop the markets where most dealers and large brands shop to buy OEM products for the lowest price. One of the problems is you have to be selective especially when it comes to electronic products. There is so much that can go wrong. Having said that there are a number of good OEM factories who make good products for the Belkins, Griffins etc in the world. This site SWS just doesn't know where to find them or they are too lazy or looking for a quick buck. If they don't look after you after the sale it is because of the price you paid. There is not enough money for insurance which helps to cover the percent of problems. No money no service.

No, it's just strictly cost. Their prices are higher than most Chinese wholesalers as well. Trust me. Their shipping prices are also higher.

Unfortunately they offer better/different goods than most on alibaba/aliexpress/MIC et. It's so hit or miss. If you happen to know of any though, I'd love to chat with you via PM.

damn

im expecting that black dock station tomorrow in the mail :(

so the alarm clock app will have no sound if the phone is on the dock ?

It might if it's not plugged into a computer and only plugged into the wall. I haven't checked that. I am also going to have to check about the line out issues when it's not plugged into a computer.

FYI: No mail delivery today. (MLK day)

haha i appreciate the heads up and sure enough it came in on tues

I gotta say.. the Clear and white bumpers are freaking AWESOME, as well as the black and red they cost $4 and are the ones with metal buttons which seem to be stuck there pretty good. But can't tell if they will last months and months, they might thou.

Now the bumper that was like $1.90 feels indeed too cheap almost like a thin plastic plate. For $2 yeah go with the more expensive one.

For $4 bumpers I give it 9.8 out of 10, fine 10 out of 10

took a month to get them thou.. well worth the wait, very happy with the product.

They send them certified mail so you have to sign for the package, i would suggest paying with paypal so if after a month you don't get it you can open a dispute.

Still the clear and white bumper left me wow..

does anyone know if the vibrate switch opening is cut larger then the apple bumper? I ordered a couple of these SW's before i learned of the slight difference in the verizon version. I think if its bigger like the sgp neo hybrid ex then it might still work. It seems as if the verizon cases will be ready after the phones is released and i want to protect when i get it. any thoughts? thanks
