i opened a thread about my concern, but i might as well ask here:

is there another case like Veil which is just a little bit thicker?
i need something that will feel a bit more safe, but keep the minimalism as much as it can..
i got the Veil today and i KNOW the phone won't be safe enough with my "care".
and also, my friend has Veil, and it tends to expand a bit after a few months, because it's so thin.

anyway, what's the next "a bit thicker" minimalist case out there?
thanks

I saw the Caudabe Facebook page mention in a comment something about a new case that's still really thin but provides more drop protection. I assume it hasn't been released yet since nothing's on their website, but I'm definitely curious. I love my Veil XT but wouldn't mind something ever so slightly heftier sometimes.

I think the grip issue really depends on the person. I've had Caudabe Veils for a while and the texture is just right for my tastes. It's just slightly grippy-er than a naked iPhone which is what I'd prefer. I don't think I've dropped my phone once in the years I've had a Veil on it, at least because of a lack of grip. General clumsiness yes, but that's a different story!

I have the Veil, while I agree with how thin it is, I don't like the way it feels. It drys my hands out. So I have decided to try this case instead. It seems slightly thicker, has ridges for grip, but still thin and is made of a different material. Plus it is also slightly transparent like the Veil.

If you have the Plus and like the ZooGue in frost, I have another I'd be happy to send you for free for a spare. I'm not a fan of the ZooGue.

Yeah, that ZooGue is an ugly beast of a case. Looks like it's made out of TPU which means it'll turn yellow/dirty after a month. Plus, it's too thick. I assume people on this thread are looking for cases on the (much) thinner side.

trying to ask them through FB.
sounds promising.

Hey man, question for you. I know you had a rubber black Air Jacket at one point.

Are you happy with the Veil XT's grip? I need a case that's slim and has exact cutouts, which is why I love the look of the Veil XT, but like others I'm concerned about grip.
IMO, the Veil has more 'grip' than the naked phone but less than the black Air Jacket, but not significantly less. You might want to get something made from TPU or leather if you're really concerned with the grip/drop protection.

Its pretty slippery. As for more grip, power support has better grip.

I'd strongly disagree that the veil has more grip then the naked phone.

I will never use the veil or veil XT's I ordered...

Thanks for the replys y'all. I'm going to try the Air Jacket once my 6s Plus arrives and hope there are none of the fit issues that some have been experiencing.

Anyone else experiencing fine scratching on the rear of the Veil XT? I keep my 3 day old Wisp Veil XT in a dedicated soft lined pocket and it already is showing several small scratches on the rear surface. That's really poor scratch resistance considering it's never touched anything capable of scratching it.

Yes, I've noticed just gently running your fingernail across the back will scratch it. Most of my scratches are from just setting it down on a rough table or something.

This is my favorite case so far

I had the Apple leather and silicone

I don't find the phone to be slippery with the new veil case on

What's this case like compared to the spigen airskin?
The Veil is thinner for sure. I ordered the Airskin but it had a molding defect on the top as well arrived with multiple scratches. I should have known better. I've had bad luck with Spigen before and swore I would never order from them again but alas I did. It's going back today.

Good advice. I had and have a Veil XT and it remains the only case on my iPhone. Perfect for me and I have zero issues with grip. But it's not for everyone. Some people seem to want to stick a round peg in a square hole, maybe because the case itself looks so darn good. But, if you need good drop protection and have grip problems in general, don't get it. That simple.

The Power Support Air Jacket is a different case altogether. Thicker and a different material. And way too expensive.

I agree with everything you said except the Air Jacket being "way too expensive." The Veil XT (6s Plus model) is $22 shipped. That's $8 less for 0.35mm of flimsy plastic.

Don't do it. Get the charcoal (or "wisp") one. I had the frost on a space gray before and it doesn't look great in my opinion. The frost is better for the other color. The wisp is the best. I love the shade of dark gray - looks really sleek on space gray.

I actually like the frost on the space grey. Here is mine:

I like the sort of "glow" you get from having the clear case on, and it makes it look like there barely is anything on phone from certain angles. It blends in well with the back! As for the XT itself, I love it - I don't think I ever want to take it off, and while it is pricey, I'm definitely thinking about getting the other colors.

A bit off topic, but has anyone seen these offered at a discount?

$22 shipped seems pricey for 0.35mm of flimsy plastic compared to the Spigen AirSkin at $12.99..

so no lip on this case, thats interesting, how many of you are using this case with a Glass Screen protector. ?
