Guess we just have different preferences then! I like it because it will keep scratches off my actual phone and still feels like I don't have a case on my phone. It does a terrific job of that in my opinion. I actually don't care much about scratches on the case itself and I suspect most people who *aren't* super picky wouldn't care either. That's all I was trying to say. There's room for more than one set of opinions/preferences in the world, right? :)

Hey, you're on Macrumors. Of course there's no room for other opinions. The opinion-givers opinion is FACT.

And since apparently this thread is for rehashing the same comment over and over, here's my opinion, which I shall state as if it applies to everyone. The Veil is great. I've had it on every iPhone since iPhone 5. It's super thin, super sleek. Yes, I have a few scratches here and there. But, no, I don't care because a) there aren't that many scratches and b) I still think it looks fantastic regardless. Now, everyone, believe the same as I do!

(tongue firmly in cheek) :D

Absolutely. Within your standards it does its job, within mine, not so much.

This case with a scratch resistant and textured rear for better grip would be the perfect case.

No. One of the principal purposes of this thread is for people who don't own the case yet to determine if it's the right product for them. That's why you've posted an opinion and I've posted an opposing one. Then it's up to the reader to filter from these assorted opinions what is important to them. Why you've labeled an opinion fact is a mystery.

As per the Caudabe web site, the Veil XT is 0.35mm. I think the color matters with how much/less the scratches appear on the case. The frost white color probably will not show scratches as much as the darker colors.

I actually think the opposite. Granted, I never had an issue with scratches on my Veil to begin with (not that there aren't scratches, but they're so small that they're insignificant to me), but I would think the darker colors would show scratches less easily. I have had the blue one since my iPhone 6 and still it looks great. And blue is still my all time favorite Veil. Looks fantastic paired with a space gray iPhone.

I know what you mean! The blue looks stunning although I haven't seen it in person yet. I was debating between the blue and the dark gray and chose the dark gray because it seemed like a "safer" option since I couldn't see them both in person. Very happy with my dark gray, but I might pick up the blue one at some point for a change of pace.

Whoa, WAY too serious, dude. :) I *did* say my last post was tongue in cheek. You sort of come off as a little authoritative in your posts is all. All in good fun though, that's what these boards are for, amirite?

Oh, I have the blue XT. Trust me, it IS stunning in person. Many a friend (or complete random stranger) has complimented the color. Extra weird in the case of strangers, but that's a different story.

I'm not sure how someone can come across authoritative when expressing opinions?

Anyway no harm, no foul. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.....

I can see both sides to this. Having had the Veil XT for a while now, it's still hands down my case of choice. It does pick up scratches, although that sort of thing either does or doesn't bother you. It doesn't bother me at all and I don't even notice scratches unless I'm consciously looking for them. If you're more OCD about your devices, then you probably should steer clear, but I'm guessing most people don't/won't care to that degree. As for grip, the texture of the Veil is one of my favorite things about the case. It's slightly matte but not too rough. To my touch, it provides a slight bit more grip than a naked iPhone. I think the grip plus the look of the case is a nice combination. Anything rougher by definition would look rougher too.

Mind posting a pic of it on your phone? I like the shade of blue Shumuri used on their Slim Extra line. The pic of the blue Veil XT on the Caudabe site looks more of a Royal Blue.

I ordered the Veil XT for the 6S after reading multiple posts. It arrived today and I'm beyond pleased. It's a great fit with a great feel. All lines up perfectly. I'm a case addict. I have 3 Apple Leather cases and this is my favorite so far.

That's funny. I'm a former Apple-leather-case-guy-turned-Caudabe-Veil-XT convert, too. Tough to go back to anything thicker after using the Veil. Being half the price of the leather case also doesn't hurt!

I've been using the Caudabe Veil XT in the last few days and love it. It fits perfectly to the iPhone 6S Plus body unlike the Shumuri Slim which had an annoying bulge/warp near the volume button (Though they did send me a replacement quickly). Between the Caudabe and Shumuri, I prefer the former as it just feels tighter and better produced. I might just have not to take it off often as it may damage it! A lot of my friends don't realise I have a case on - it's amazingly that thin.

I'm in the same boat with the same issues on the Shumuri. I'm liking the Veil XT but unfortunately I didn't follow instructions and cracked it above the headphone jack. I'm thinking about getting the darker one in a couple weeks so I'll be more careful with that one.

Just email Caudabe, don't buy another one. Fantastic customer support - big reason I give them my money each time I upgrade my iPhone. You'll probably qualify for a warranty replacement. I've been sent several over the years. Fast process, super easy to deal with.

Do you end up having to ship the old one back? The nice thing about Shumuri is that they've replaced a couple other cases and I never had to ship the old one back.

I bought one of these for my new iPhone with hopes that just maybe it would have some grip. Not the case so I contacted Caudabe via email. Within an hour today on Sunday I got a response with a prepaid mailer to send it back. They also said in the email that they are coming up with still slim but a bit thicker case with more grip. Good to know.

Geez. No wonder they're $20.

Now then, is there any place else to buy the Veil XT 6S from besides their website?

I hate when a website offers PayPal, but still makes you go through the entire process of adding shipping and billing info. What's the point, besides harvesting my info? HATE.

Another question; does anyone make one of these super thin cases in opaque black? I don't really understand the fascination with transparent cases.

Nor do I, so I bought the XT in Wisp, which is dark enough that the effect is low transparency.

My case broke apart at bottom near the headphone port

I only took it off 2 times off the phone , you have to be really careful taking this case off
