Can weird be good? Yes. Is Nintendo good when they’re weird? Sometimes. Nintendo is better when they’re cool. Miitomo was not cool. Classic Nintendo (NES, SNES, N64) arguably was the coolest. More coolness.

Absolutely not, but I wouldn't pay $30 for a game cartridge (they still use those?) either at this time. Nor would I buy a Game Boy. However, I would be willing to pay $5 for Mario on my iPhone. They would need to compete with current game prices.

I hugely disagree on your point about price. Price should be proportional to the amount of content.

A lot of $5 are so cheap because there's so little to do in them. You play for less than 5 hours and you've done everything.

Nintendo games generally offer 30 hours of content, and so justify their $30 price tags.

It wasnt a great idea to begin with..many people don't like to share their personal life with others even their "friends".
I think the high number if initial downloada were mainly due to novelty of the game being the first nintendo cell phone.
They should have made a version of Dr Mario or Wario Ware etc..the mini game, short pick up and play type of games..not gimicky social media clones.

It doesn't work because I only have one friend who linked it to their Facebook. It's pointless to answer questions if it's only for yourself and no one else is sharing anything.

That and some of the questions it asks are so inane and painfully trying and failing to be 'teeny'

horrible real examples:

"What would you like for your next birthday?"

"What's your favourite advert on TV?"

"What Internet video made you laugh recently?"

I honestly only downloaded it because I assume (if Nintendo are smart) that all of this will agrigate and link to your nintendo account so when I get a Nintendo NX, the experience will be richer.

I've heard rumors the upcoming Nintendo NX is going back to cartridge technology since disc read times are too slow. Plus you can store way more data on a cartridge now than you can on a disc.

I think Nintendo needs to hire new blood so that they can have fresh ideas and remove old blockers. Most folks really do want to see Mario and other games on the phone as well as other consoles. They could make a killing if they just got out of their own way!

I tried Mitomo and there isn't a real point to the game or any motivation to keep playing. Not sure how many guys like to play dress up so not sure what super genius at Nintendo thought this was a great idea to waste resources on? My woman thought it was cool though.

No duh. Nobody cares about these stupid secondary titles. Wake me up when they release some AAA tiles based on their prime IP like Super Mario.

#Nintendo #CEOFail

I used it for a bit, but it seems like it's only useful at getting money out of you by teasing you with stuff that you can try to win with the gamble games, but you eventually give up on those and fork your cash over for stupid clothes, and at getting personal info out of you for advertising. The stuff they ask really makes me wonder if I'll start seeing ads targeted at me based on the info I gave, which is little but still. No wonder this never caught on. It's a gimmick.

It failed because *gasp* its not actually a game! Some part of me thinks they led with this just so they could later on say "see, mobile doesn't work" to justify not putting their franchise leaders out there.

I installed it. I think I even launched it once or twice, but I never signed in or did anything. It just didn't look like anything I wanted to do. I'd hear it talked about on gaming podcasts. From what they'd say, it didn't sound like anything I wanted to do.

I will probably be interested in the coming Animal Crossing game. Maybe the Fire Emblem one, but that isn't my kind of game on 3DS and such.

If they released 30-year-old games, with no changes in graphics or sound quality, they would still do better than a game of avatar-dress-up. Give me original Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, even Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. There's a lot of sentiment in those old games.

It seems Nintendo is so afraid of cannibalizing their console systems they won't do anything truly innovative. They have a large library of interesting properties, if they just went all-in, they'd be at the top of the app charts. Instead, they run the risk of turning into Sega.

How long before people boycott Nintendo just for having to deal with their infuriating nonsense.

I tried it, as I do like Nintendo for the most part. However, it got boring very quickly. Aside from getting clothes and amassing coins for redemption of Nintendo stuff, there isn't much to do.

Nintendo games are $30 where you're from? Here a first party 3DSgame is $40-45 and Wii U reaching $60-70

I have no idea what 3DS games go for - I stopped buying Nintendo's portable systems after the Advance.

I've never seen a Wii U title over $60 (unless extra hardware is involved), and mostly they're closer to $50.

They shouldn't have bothered with this, it just gives armchair CEO more ammo in their delusional ideas.

Funny because I deleted the app this week. Got bored since there was nothing really to do inside (except the stupid mini game to get clothes)

How am i supposed to play super mario bros 2 with virtual buttons. It will piss a lot of people off because they cant finish the game.
