I remember the DJ who guessed the title of the song.

"Are those a reebok or a nike" 😁

SoundHound has had this function for years. If Shazam is supposed to, I’ve never been able to get a hit using it. Too bad that’s the one Apple bought.

It's not until recently that I found out that Apple bought Shazam maybe there are working a new Shazam which is going to work better and with new features and Siri integration.

Reminds me of this...thought oh how far we've come.

Absolute classic episode. "Hmmm hmmm himmm...."

Didn't work for me. I hit the mic, say "What's this song?", and it tells me "I don't have that information."

*Got it to work. It sucks. No doubt will be gathering data and be refined in no time given the vast amount of users it has. Though it seems more like novelty to me. I suppose if you remembered a melody but didn't know the words, or were listening to a catchy instrumental it may help. But in the vast majority of cases, you literally only need to know half a sentence of a song to be able to search the lyrics.

I'm not a big google fan, but this is another reason why Apple Siri will never catch up to google assistant and their variants.

You've used the feature and can say this for sure? Is it really such an amazing thing?

In my experience, Google is a little too quick to market with some of these innovative mobile features and often puts out a half-baked experience. Apple may lag in terms of sheer features list, but when they do it, they do it right.

Used to do this with Soundhound’s predecessor. It can be turned into a simple fun party game. Whoever can get the app to recognise their hummed song gets a point..and so on...

It doesn’t work for me. It just returns search results for “this song”.
It doesn't work for me either. When I say "What's this song", it just fills "What's this song" in the search bar and returns the google search results for it. Does anyone know why it doesn't work for me or twistedpixel8? iPhone XS, iOS 14.

You have to update to the latest version. When you do, the "Search A Song" bubble will appear on the screen. Unless you have that then you will only get web search results.

Modimi or whatever it was called used have a feature like this, and then soundhound bought them out about 6 or 8 years ago and messed up the app. The feature doesn't seem to work as well as it used, but maybe that's my rose tinted memory. I just seem to recall it being more accurate. Hmm..
This was a feature before. I distinctly remember humming songs to find them. Since then it’s been impossible to do it.

Seems legit. Buy out then tech, suppress it for years, then come out with it again as a “feature”

Shazam does not have this feature. Also what I liked about Modimi was app was so clean and had simply this feature and worked well. SoundHound are of these apps that does basically one thing but act like they are a bank with 30 features and an account and all this bloat we don't need or want, at the single feature I do want doesn't seem to work as well for me now. I don't know.

I agree. All these song ID apps are desperately bloating themselves with all manner of junk, trying to integrate with or replace your primary music apps. We don’t want SoundHound to “Check Out What’s Hot” or Shazam to show us “The Charts.” Just identify the bloody song so we can move on. I do think that SoundHound has an ability edge and the hum thing is nice (I’m better at remembering tunes than lyrics). We’ll see what Apple makes of Shazam. Maybe we’ll find out in iOS 15.

Are there still brainless peoples out there who use google?
Can't believe that..

First of all, calling people “brainless” is not cool.

Second, I have tried very hard to get used to DuckDuckGo, but the truth is that Google is just miles ahead as a service, so in the end I gave up and went back to Google.
I am being very careful about protecting my privacy and I believe you can mostly do so even by using Google (to a degree obviously).

I also have a Yahoo mail account. Fancy having a go at me for that as well?

That was the first thing I made sure of. What version are you running? Mine is 129.0.
