Yeah, the camera bezel is ugly, but honestly, I have used some sort of case for every phone I've owned. I don't see that changing anytime soon. I'll never see the bezel in real life use anyway. The bigger (only?) issue to me is whether or not there are enough enhancements to make the phone actually worthwhile. Heck, we're talking nearly $1K for the upper end 7+, right? Like without a headphone jack? That means that any new features will not have to just be 'improvements', but will need to be 'amazements' for me to pull the trigger (obviously a squirt gun trigger since this is Apple we're talking about!) on the new phone.

It sucks, but then we already knew that.

I begrudgingly upgraded from my iPhone 4s to an iPhone 6 recently, but I can't see myself upgrading to a new iPhone anytime in the next 3 years.

Both of those units are fake. Easy to tell these are fake knockoffs by taking a close look at the Apple logo and the "grain" of the metal. Bleh.

I really hope they don't make the Plus a completely exceptional camera and video phone compared to the normal sized model.

It's annoying because it looks like Apple are heading down that path.

The Plus is just a brick.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the camera bump is hideous.

Otherwise, not bad.

sigh....anxiously waiting to see what they bring. Torn between this and the note 7. I love everything about the note and I specifically want that camera! Man if I could just iOS into the body of the note 7....

Wouldn't it be great if this phone design was invented by Apple to throw everyone off the scent, and they have actually created something exciting we haven't seen yet... I live in hope. :(

Why would they do that? It seems as though some people are switching to android devices based on these rumors. Why would they purposely leak photos and specifications that would make people leave the apple ecosystem? And if these rumors are false and the new phones are exciting it seems like Apple would leak out some excitement in order to keep people around.

I have been using apple products for a long time, but this year I had to buy a windows 10 computer to run oculus rift, and it looks like I may need to buy an android device to use my preferred headphones without an adapter plus I'll get wireless charging. I also bought a roku 6 months ago and havent touched my apple tv.

At one point I thought it would be hard to switch from Apple products because everything i used on a daily basis was apple, however in a month the only "Apple Only" device I'll have is my iPad and I only use that to read stuff. It would be an easy switch to android for that.

I had a dream last night of the anniversary " iPhone Legacy " edition dedicated to Steve. It is based on the iPhone 4. It is doubles sided curved black X-Glass with a single metal band that runs around it like the iPhone 4, but due to the curve more resembles a jewel. It is an edgeless display and thanks to the OLED technology you cant tell where it ends and the glass begins.

The Phone comes with last generation Sony 20MP sensor that has been tweaked by Apple. It has a USBC Connector, and 2 stereo speakers. There are no physical buttons instead replaced by force sensitive sections to replicate the physical hard reset but all other inputs are touch based.

The real gem is is the phone is the same thickness of the iPhone 4 and as such the majority of the space is taken by a battery that along with the newer display and component technologies will give a week long battery so that even the heaviest of users will not need a charger within 24hours.

.... Then I woke up and saw this thing and I could hear the ghost of Apple sobbing. I suppose I can get used to a Samsung =(

Every year iPhones break sales records, but this year I just can't see that happening (but who knows). I didn't have a problem with the antenna bands on the iPhone 6/6S, but the ones on this new iPhone just look awful. The worst thing, however, is that monstrosity of a camera, it sticks out way too much, and that big camera on the Plus is just hideous.

How did Samsung manage to make a beautiful phone like the S7, with minimal bezels, and a camera that almost doesn't stick out? Samsung of all companies ffs. It's embarrassing to walk around with an iPhone, when other people have a 5" super amoled 1440p screen, while you have a screen that isn't even 1080p. And on top of all that they also manage to have better battery life.

I hope all these images are fake, and Apple comes out with an iPhone that blows away everyone.

Cmon it's not embarrassing.

iPhone is still an amazing device with good software.

I think Apple pushes these leaks on us so much in order to avoid the shock of how ugly the phone is.

I used to find the dual camera design horrible, but seeing it so much, I've grown to... like it?!

It's still ugly. Just like music on the radio, once something gets beat in your head so much you begin to accept it.

Someone says that every year, and every year Apple break there own sales records. Apple still has the best OS, the design of the iPhone isn't that bad but it's personal opinion, it's funny how people don't complain about Samsungs design, the S6 and S7 have the same design along with the Note 5 and now the Note 7. People just like to show off "oh look at me I have the latest iPhone, you can tell I do because it has a different design to the others"

On a personal note, if the dual camera is added on the 7 Plus, and there are updates internally along with a haptic home
Button and a 256GB storage option, I'll be happy and buying it, I have a feeling a lot of people who like myself own a iPhone 6 or Plus will do the same.

To be fair, Samsung bumps the version number up every year.. 6 -> 7, they don't have a '.5' model like the iPhone S upgrades. They also seem to be running on a 2-year design window.

I find it hilarious that some peeps here are justifying the removal of the headphone jack in Ive's attempt to make the phone a fraction of millimetres thinner - but approve a design with bezels as big as a house.

While I like the iPhone and iOS in general, that design looked dated and tired 2 years ago already.
The 6 was never a good looking design. It's sad that the 6 design is the one which will span 3 generations as the premier phone, while the 4 (once the durability issues were fixed) or the 5, only got 2 as the flagship. While 3 flagships is far too many for the same design, if any design had to have it, the 4 or 5 would have been so much better.

What amazes me is how secretive Apple is or tries to be in so many ways. They even openly admit this.

But yet...their product line, specifically the iPhone is far more leaked than any other product from any other manufacturer on the market today.

So much for secrecy. But then again...is it intentional or unavoidable.

technically the iPhone 4 design had 6 models, the iphone 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 5c and SE. It is the longest running iPhone design yet.

Fakes. But really, is everyone THAT desperate for an iPhone story? Funny how someone has this 'genuine' iPhone 7 shell and gets 'high res' pictures of it, yet doesn't seem able to get a picture of the edges where the ports are! Hmmm...

This is so obviously not real. The material looks wrong, the gold is wrong, the apple logo doesn't fit as tightly as it should on the back.

And all the talk of the home button... Does Macrumors really think people will be driven to buy it depending on the look and functionality of the home button. Come on... you can do better than that.

1) For the life of me I'll never understand why everyone hates the fact they're removing the headphone jack. It's 2016, you should have wireless headphones already. For those that INSIST on using dated technology, there's a rumor that they'll include the adapter. If they do include the adapter free of charge, it's probably because y'all made a big stink about it - so kudos to you, I guess?

2) If you have a case like most people do, the "camera bump" doesn't matter.

3) I'm a little bummed that they aren't doing a major redesign, but at least they're keeping the most beautiful iPhone they've ever designed around for 3 years rather than the GOD awful (by comparison) iPhone 5 design. The iPhone 6/6s is simply gorgeous and the 4/4s/5/5s was just super awkward and had too many hard edges.

This looks like a Xiaomi knockoff. Hope it isnt real.

Huh? The iPhone 4 and 4S had glass on the back. The 5, 5S were aluminum. 5C was plastic.

There was very little in common between the 4* and 5* designs.

The 5 was a great design, which is why Apple can still sell an SE with it's design.

The headphone jack may be "dated" but it's still a LOT better than wireless headphones. It will never get discharged. It's universal, so I can buy a huge variety of headphones from a huge variety of suppliers at a huge variety of price points, the sound quality is as good, if not better than what you would get from wireless, "pairing" it isn't a disaster, and there is support for a vast variety of types of headphones to suit different needs, including in ear, over the hear, around the neck, cans, etc.

The only downside? Wires that can occasionally be annoying to deal with.

Seems like people hate the fact that they are removing the better technology in favor of the worse new shiny.

Still learning all the ins and outs of my 6s. I will get this when the iPhone 8 comes out next year and get it cheaper.

If this phone is indeed going to be called the iPhone 7, can we expect a similar looking phone with a 7S label next year? Are they actually going to keep this horrid design for 4 years?
