Can someone please tell me if they can AirPlay from Spotify to their Home Pod Mini with 15.1?

Is it just me...or has Apple waited until they killed the original Homepod (you know the expensive one that might actually be suitable to fill a room with sound) before it truly committed to healthy support of the product?

I mean this has got to be one of the worst managed products in Apple history. Why did they even include this on the Keynote?

You've just coloured the mesh for goodness sake. Give them a proper upgrade Apple!

The stupidest product Apple has made after the famous Cloth! Relatively cheap, with low marging, low popularity in its specific segment, doesnt attract new users to the ecosystem and other Apple products, doesnt serve as quality music listening device (headphones are way more convenient), product build around Siri which still has a lot to learn and improve, limited functionality overall. Most people just buy it to give it a shot for 99 bugs. It mostly stays off on the shelf and Apple made it for the sole purpose of having a smart speaker in its ecosystem. Unless you have very well build smart home with tons of homekit gadgets, the homepod is just gimmick.

have never heard one of these, how is the sound for music, compared to the big HomePod and say a decent quality Bose bluetooth speaker?

I find it so strange that we still don't have a broader availability of the HomePods, just a handful countries, and reasoning seems to be Siri not being supported in the HomePods in those languages. But it's not like Siri isn't available in these languages on iPhones or Macs.

I have five original HomePods and two Minis. The larger HomePod sounds better with richer sound. The Mini's sound good for casual listening; say for in a kitchen or home office. Still fine, and in my opinion a good deal at $99, instead of $349 for the original HomePod.

They should pretty decent when you put them as a stereo pair. Obviously even a stereo pair of minis is still inferior to a single OG HomePod ,but the sound is decent in my dining room as a stereo pair. I have a stereo pair of OG HomePods in my living room.

Maybe - but with none of the smart features.

I'm in hotel rooms with my Macbook Pro, iPad, and iPhone.

I can bounce music, films, and even phone calls straight to my HomePod Mini.
Regular speakers seem pointless to me now. I was bought a Bluetooth speaker as a gift. It has multi coloured LED lights and a clock. I haven’t used it and I have no plans to. It just seems pointless when I have HomePods all around my house.
