Well, at least we've finally got some specs!

If the resolution is increased on the 14" we might be looking at something nice, since superdrive now appears to be standard at US$1299... very interesting... now hurry up and update the Store! :)

Each iBook features the ATI
Mobility Radeon 9550 with 32MB of dedicated video memory for improved graphics
and either a slot-load SuperDrive(TM), for burning DVDs and CDs, or a
slot-load Combo drive for watching DVDs and burning CDs.

"ATI Mobility Radeon 9550 with 32MB"...

The hell? Still 32MB?! Argh!

Also, can anyone point me in the direction of a Radeon 9200/32MB vs GeForce FX Go5200/64MB vs Radeon 9550/32MB chart? <g>

Oh rats!

I was sooo ready to get a low end iBook, but 32MB's is just doesnt cut it for me. :(
9550 as such, would have been good enough.

It said 12.1" (diagonal) Is that normal?

I'm sure it would have mentioned widescreen in that PR as well. I don't think that PRNewswire would have a fake release up either.

So, no Mac Mini for me because there isn't a significant update to my taste, so it remains to see if the iBook is still using the same old display.

If it is still a 1024x768 display then 32MB is enough for desktop use, and the 9550 is a good step up, even if it isn't as good as could be hoped.

The most useful thing is that the machine has 512MB of memory on board and can go up to 1.5GB now.
