I wondering if current iMacs will get just an update / spec bump...
iPad Mini Max
Say it with me, iPad Mini Pro
Your fantasy: lame-ass rehash of a meme five years past its sell by date.*Phil Schiller confidently strolls on stage*
“Meet the all new 13” iPad Mini Plus Max. Can’t innovate anymore, my ass!”
*Crowd erupts for 10-minute standing ovation*
What's the point of a larger iPad mini I wonder? makes no sense to me.
I was just pondering this and came to the same conclusion. What's the point of a larger iPad mini I wonder? makes no sense to me.
I always respect your input, but I still haven’t caught up with you in thinking the 10.8” model is the next base iPad. Are you thinking it’ll keep the home button, forehead/chin, rounded rear shell and still get such a large screen? I’m stuck on it being the Air 4 within the 2018 Pro 11” housing with slightly thicker bezels. They copied the 10.8” iPad prediction from Kuo but still got the name wrong.

Will this be the last Intel based iMac?
I assume TouchID with a home button would still be needed at the budget end. Maybe they can trim the 10.2” bezels beyond that of the 10.5’s to keep overall device size (and thus existing accessory compatibility) the same. Or give it a squared off chassis that works with Air 4/Pro 11” accessories so all three iPads could use the same keyboard. Just seems to me like it’ll be too big if existing bezels carry over to the larger screen.Kuo was pretty explicit about the 10.8" being a low-cost device. @L0vetodream says the iPad (2020) will use the A12 and the next iPad Air will be 11" with mini-LED and in-display fingerprint. This makes sense for a number of reasons. The volume of the low-cost iPad is likely high enough to justify a new 10.8" chassis for the product. There are also enough features separating an 11" Air with the 11" Pro such as camera, storage, Face ID, and perhaps 5G.
I hope not, 2020 has been crazy enough already. In case people missed it, we are ALREADY in the second half of 2020.

Maybe Apple’s fiscal year is throwing them off.June is still inside the first six months of the year.
Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun.
The second six months begins from July.
Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec.
I mean I would love to see it at WWDC or at least signs of it and itching to get a USB-C non-pro iPad for the longest time, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
I considered the possibility of eliminating TouchID altogether when replying, which could make sense in classrooms, but the base iPad is just too popular in general for them to go back to password only protection I think. Maybe a side button or smaller pill shaped home button? I’m still not convinced which way they’ll go with all these models but certainly interested in watching it play out. Off topic but right now the front runner for my money is the ~9” Mini, that would be awesome.I don't think there's any way around a Home button for the 10.8" iPad. Unless Apple says no Touch ID for the $329 iPad, there will be a Home button. In terms of chassis, due to cost, I suspect Apple will simply enlarge the existing 10.2" chassis to fit a 10.8" display, just as Apple enlarged the 9.7" chassis for 10.2". The 10.5" chassis is too small.
In terms of keyboards, the current Smart Keyboard for 10.5/10.2" has been out for 3 years. It shouldn't be painful for Apple to update it for 10.8". Apple has such a high margin on accessories, I don't they mind maintaining 3 keyboard products as they do now.

Reality: Apple issues press release about the refreshed iPad mini’s slightly larger screen in the same physical size.
I think software adoption will take time (Years) from third party developers.. let’s see what they say at WWDC.Will this be the last Intel based iMac?
Completely true and the screen size (mm * mm) is not even listed on the detailed tech specs on Apple website, you can only calculate it somewhat from the pixel resolution.I don't like how EVERYONE mentions screen sizes using one diagonal measurement. It's a worthless dimension. A "8 inch screen" could be 8 inches at a 4:3 ratio or 8 inches at a 16:9 or even skinnier ratio (or a square).
I second this. Why would I want a mini almost as big, though thinner, as the original iPad?
The entire reason I have an iPad mini is because it's small.
That is interesting. You mean they wanted a wider screen keyboard for the 11?A narrower aspect ratio on the mini will make it much less useful in portrait as a reading device - this is an area where it is superior to the phablet style phones.
Only one iPad (the 11 inch pro) has ever had an aspect ratio other than 4:3 and they only did that (I understand) to maintain keyboard usability.
I always do landscape FaceTime call, camera has to be moved to the horizontal top of the screen like on every laptop. Right now it’s just silly.I got the new iPad Pro with the keyboard. I hate that the camera is on the side, and not the top when you have it on the keyboard now. It didn't bother me until i had the keyboard and have it in that position most of the time. Photos and FaceTime look weird. They should potentially think about moving the camera in my opinion if they continue to push out support for the keyboards and more computer type functionality.
Other than entertainment, that is my main reason to follow Rumors sites. I wanna avoid buying something close to the announcement of a new model.I really hope this new iMac is coming soon. My mother has wanted to replace her 2009 iMac for months and I keep telling her to wait as there is a new one coming soon. That and I refuse to let her spend that kind of money on a computer with a spinner hard drive in 2020, so hopefully the rumors of all flash storage are true.
Pencil 1 and lightning should disappear soon. And iPad Air will have usb c so means Apple Pencil 2 support? Yet the mini will have lightening?
