I don’t understand why Apple stuck with the A10 chip in the iPad last year. I would never buy an Apple Device with a 2 generation old chip because of lack of future support. Hopefully we will finally see the A12 chip in an affordable iPad.

I wish Apple could do an announcement for products to be launched in the next 6 months, this way we can make our decisioins to buy or wait. Now you buy a product, 2 months later, its the launch of the much improved and better but same priced iPad. Kind of like they announce iOS in June but release it in October.

I agree I didn’t care about the iPad Pro upgrades but sometimes I do care to know what’s coming so I can make the best decision.

Was there 2 ipad airs launched in 2019? I thought the 2019 ipad air was 10.5-inch. 🤔

"Apple is also expected to enlarge the size of 2020 ‌iPad‌ Air to 10.8-inch compared to the 10.2-inch one launched in 2019, said the sources"

In case people missed it, we are ALREADY in the second half of 2020.
LOL .... ahh no, I don't think so. We're only in June buddy!!
Second half only starts in July.
I guess you're just so eager to get to the second half that you thought we were already in July? LOL

I think the main selling point of iPad Mini is the lower price. That would not be possible with thinner bezels.
I think we’re arriving at the point where it should become possible to offer thinner bezels, FaceID and the A14/4GB RAM on the iPad mini for a price of $549-599 for the 256GB WiFi version. Apple should still make a healthy profit on it. Maybe use the XR camera.

I believe it's the size that sells the Mini as it's small enough to easily carry all day for workers, yet large enough to display specific datasets from custom applications. And I believe those business/medical users are willing to pay for upgrades like FaceID and a more powerful SoC.

The iPad is less expensive and while it comes with half the storage in the $329 model, for $429 you get twice as much as the base $399 Mini and it has a much larger screen for displaying "general" content.

I was anxious to get a new iPad Mini a couple of years ago, at that point I was only using the Mini (earlier gen) and didn't like using the larger regular iPad. Since that time I've been using the regular iPad (in fact I have two of the darn things so that I always have one fully charged, talk about spoiled), anyway I don't think I could go back to the smaller screen at this point.

The last time or two I've purchased a new iPad, I've always looked at the Mini and concluded that it was practically the same price (if not more expensive since the memory options are different, yes it does have the newer chip), so why not get the bigger screen? I know, it's lighter and more convenient. But for watching streaming video, or web browsing, or just about anything, I'm happier with the larger screen.

Yes, you said it better than I did.

I really hope this new iMac is coming soon. My mother has wanted to replace her 2009 iMac for months and I keep telling her to wait as there is a new one coming soon. That and I refuse to let her spend that kind of money on a computer with a spinner hard drive in 2020, so hopefully the rumors of all flash storage are true.

Similar boat -- I've been thinking of getting my mom an iMac, and waiting for an update with all SSD drives. Now though, this whole ARM thing gives me pause. My mom is far from a power user and is likely to use a new machine for 5 years minimum. With the switch to ARM, I'm sure Apple will continue to support x86 in the short and medium term, but I'm less sure about 5, 6, 7 years out. Based on how fast they moved with PPC -> Intel I feel like there could be some risk there, which I'm not wild about with a new machine.

I have a 6-year old iMac that needs an update and I'm working on a long-term project that requires a lot of After Effects. I don't care about a redesign - I still think the iMac looks great. Just give me an iMac with update-to-date CPU/Graphics, a fast SSD that is not over priced and user upgradable memory. I'm not asking for a lot! I'll order the day it is announced.

Agreed, but people read the word "bezels" over and over again and worked themselves into a frenzy thinking they must be bad.

Fact is, on a desktop it doesn't particularly matter. You're not carrying the thing around, putting in a bag like a laptop. I actually find a bit of space around the monitor provides a good visual buffer between my screen and whatever is behind it. And if it provides more space for cooling or speakers or whatever -- or just makes the damn thing a bit less expensive to make -- I could give a rat's ass about a "chin" or "bezel" or whatever people have suddenly convinced themselves is such a problem.

Maybe the iMac Pro will go on sale after the the new iMac comes out.

The lower price is a job of a vanilla iPad. The mini offers a compact design. Besides, the iPad mini has been like this since forever. It's time to improve it.

I will order the new iMac on day-one, if it would be redesigned with much thinner bezel. BTW. I am still using the mac mini 2011 as my desktop 😝😝

Looking at getting a new 27" iMac but holding off for the announcement considering its a month wait for the 2019 models if you want an SSD anyway.

The bezels don't bother me, its going to be in my home office all its life not on display in a fashion show but if there is a spec bump for the same price or it means the current ones are cheaper, it worth waiting till WWDC to see the new models.

Im not waiting util the end of 2020 for delivery on the new ones though so will likely just get the 2019 models at a cheaper price.

Anyone else excited for the new iPad Mini Max Pro 13”?

What's the point of a larger iPad mini I wonder? makes no sense to me.

Mini is relative. If all the other iPads are getting bigger screens eventually the mini will be the original 9.7” iPad.

This is what I'm wondering. Maybe it's just confusion around shrinking the bezels and having a larger screen but same size package. If they actually make the entire ipad mini larger I'd be confused and would have zero desire to buy one.

A logical move for Apple would be to simply bump the iPad processor to A12 or A13. Then introduce iPad mini and iPad Air with redesigned form factor of the iPad Pro, but with in-display Touch ID and an A14 SoC. The iPad Pros will get the A14X.

What I would like to see is the iPad 8 get the A12, 4gb of ram and 10.8 inch screen. The air gets A14, 6GB of ram and 11inch screen. The pro gets A14x, 8gb of ram, screen sizes stay the same. Mini gets same specs as the air with a 8.5 inch screen.
