The Volume and Eject keys are there, they just moved them, assuming they're real photos.

Also, a set of [rewind], [play] and [forward] keys appear to have been added to the F-keys. link

I do question the addition of a Function key, like the portables keyboards, especially in place of the [Help/Ins] key, rather than at the more comfortable modifier-key area.

I could see this being a test article/prototype, but maybe not a production representation, at least as far as key layout goes.

For mega win Apple need to make a MacBook Pro like keyboard. I would buy in an instant, I even do all my forum stuff and essays on my PowerBook for the keyboard!

I don't like the MB style keyboard one bit. The current Apple Keyboard isn't much better IMO.

I don't believe it. If it's real, god help us, they're keyboards are getting worse by the year. At least sell it for only $20 so it's no so damn painful to keep replacing them. My problem with their last two keyboards is the quality. I literally was replacing my Apple keyboard annually, until I bought a Matias Tactile Pro. C'mon Apple, give us a keyboard that lasts!

I dunno. My Macbook keyboard has been through a year and a half of hard use and it's as good as new. I don't see anything in particular about this design that screams 'NOT DURABLE'. Care to elaborate?

Eh... totally predictable.. thinner, more rounded corners, etc... Apple's style is almost becoming a bit cliche.

Obviously fake..

1. Take a look at the bottom of the keyboard where the four rubber dots are. Now, take a look at the side of the keyboard and tell me why the f*ck they don't even touch the table when the keyboard is lay down?

2. Look at the Apple logo - image

3. Cmd key without the Apple logo? wtf? - image

Control yourself mate. Just because you use stars doesn't make that sort of lingo acceptable. There are kids here. Over a keyboard? I'd hate to see your reaction if someone bumped into you.

I don't believe those pictures. The guy that posted those pictures on flickr took the time to edit those pictures with photoshop 7.0 after he made them with his nikon camera. He also forgot to remove the guides in the photoshop file he created to edit his pics in.

Image re-size perhaps?

Cynical young man.

Rich.

I created an account here just to respond to this because the same thing happened to me, albeit more personal.

When I bought an iPhone on day 1, I had the first unboxing pictures up on Flickr minutes after 6pm Eastern time, even before Engadget posted their pics. Someone actually posted a link of my set to Engadget's comments. Within an hour, the comment was deleted. I emailed Ryan about it and he said it was flagged as spam. I call BS, and they are just trying to protect the traffic to their site.

I love reading Engadget, but actions like that are uncalled for and frankly p*ss me off.
This is uncalled for, maybe next time we should start putting watermarks on the images.

There are 2 USB ports - one on each side

Hey tekcor ... did you even look at all the photos? USB ports are clearly visible on the side photo and there is one on each side of the keyboard.

Southernboy, a mouse is a USB device. The two USB ports are the same as what is on the current Apple keyboards.

i like the keys (always loved the macbook keyboard), but i'm not sure i'm a fan of the white on metal look. i'm always wondering about a wireless version. where could the batteries go?

It looks like there would be enough space in groundbar to me...

I love it. I would get one -- but no cables please. If it is true it reveals the new colour/material of the new iMac.

Fake, but probably close.

I would think that Apple would use the MBP style keys since they are far superior than the current iMac keyboard.

1.) The keyboard is propped up on a camera lens.
2.) They don't probably actually use that many of those stickers. They were probably produced quite a while ago, perhaps as a rush job. If the public aren't going to see them, why bother spending ages setting up perfect artwork for 50 or so stickers?
3.) Things change. My iMac keyboard is quite a bit different from an old PowerMac 7200 keyboard we have in the office!

i rated this negative because i don't like the look at all. even with a brushed aluminum imac the old bluetooth keyboard would look better IMO. i hope apple comes up with something better and more stylish than that.

Just to clarify, I'm not attacking, I'm just questioning? Have you used a MacBook keyboard for an extended period of time? I was a little hesitant about the keyboard when I ordered my MB, but seeing as I couldn't afford a pro there wasn't much I could do about it. Now, after using it for almost a year, I LOVE the keyboard. I think it's fantastic, and will be great as Apple's base design. Can't wait for the MBP revision to change it's keyboard style ;)

I dunno. My Macbook keyboard has been through a year and a half of hard use and it's as good as new. I don't see anything in particular about this design that screams 'NOT DURABLE'. Care to elaborate?

Agreed... my MB keyboard has been wonderful, stands up to all kinds of heavy usage. I don't think durability will be a problem.

Seconded. If you feel the need to curse, buy a dictionary and learn some new words.
