I think the Pro models will come with a fast charger, and the non-Pros will come without the standard one.

no chargers in any iphone 12 models...that all the rumours says
After that if you want the 5W 18W or the new 20W its your choice what you will buy (but for the 5W you will need the usbA-lightning cable also)

So they are going to ship the new iPhone without a power adaptor to save the environment because most people have power adaptors already but they changed the fcuking cable to USB-C so most people will need to buy a separate USB-C power adaptor! Seems more like a money making scam than trying to save the planet. And of course the iPhone price won't be any cheaper than previous years!

For me, this is just a transition. I am convinced that within one year all Apple devices (but the Apple Watch ?) will have USB-C supply connector. Or they will be wireless charging.

Yeah well, I disagree with those rumors.
The expensive models of Apple Watches still come with a charger.

You go out of your way to visit a website whose stated purpose is to serve up every bit of news and rumor on new things from Apple, and then you complain about a rumor of something new from Apple? I don't get it.
I’m thinking of a word. It begins with a T

Really happy that the cable is braided, the no power adapter is a bit meh... but can understand why...

I think it’s about time Apple started selling the Apple Watch face only, rather than having to buy a strap every time (this is also quite harmful to the environment).

Just wondering how much the power adapter and cable will be on their own?...

As for lightning I can understand again why no usb c on the iPhone... does everyone remember the uproar when they changed the connection last time...

I don’t think USB C will ever come to iPhone, most likely go straight from lightning to wireless

Okay, so here's what I don't understand about Apple not providing a power brick this year:

The rationale is that most people already have them so it would just create more waste... Okay, that makes sense. But the cable they're packing this year is lighting to USB-C... Don't the vast majority of iPhone and iPad owners probably have USB-A charging bricks that came with previous devices? Only people with iPad Pros and certain model Macbooks will have a USB-C charger.

I'm hoping that the iPad Air 4 will be available before the iPhone 12, and I intend to get both, but if the Air doesn't come first, I don't own a single USB-C charging brick.

its only for eco reasons, I think they wanna stop all plastic, these could break more

Honestly, I simply don’t understand why Apple hasn’t migrated to USB-C on iPhone. Mac and all iPad but the base model is USB-C. AirPods 2 and Pro should have also been USB-C.

There are a number of excellent braided cables already available. I doubt the Apple one will be worth the high price they will seek.
I’m a big fan and user of the Nomad cables. Have the 2m and 3m USB-C cables for my MBP and iPP.

why usb-c just for 1 year...since from 2021 iphone goes port-less

Well if they're making a braided cable for "durability," that could mean they're looking for it to last more than one year. So there's that...

Ooh, I like this. Unfortunately I think my pets will be more likely to chew on this, while they leave rubberized cables alone. I mean, if the attacks on my shoelaces are any indication.

The Only reason I am Not going into IPhone 12 is the lack of USB-C. All other pros have it. Wireless charging would be acceptable but not lightning.

Still no USB-C on the iPhone??? Ridiculous.

I already have tons of 6' braided cables but I'm sure it will find a nice spot in the back of a closet or something.

So here is a question, I don't have anything with a USB-C port for charging. If I were to buy an iPhone 12, and it comes with this cable: Would I still be able to use one of my USB A to Lightning cables to charge the phone, or even connect to the Mac? Just hoping Apple isn't planning on forcing USB C "is my main question"
