Never going to happen.WTH Apple?! USB-C to USB-C... it's time damn it![]()
Of course you can use USB-A to Lightning. So here is a question, I don't have anything with a USB-C port for charging. If I were to buy an iPhone 12, and it comes with this cable: Would I still be able to use one of my USB A to Lightning cables to charge the phone, or even connect to the Mac? Just hoping Apple isn't planning on forcing USB C "is my main question"
These look nice and all, and I'm sure they feel better when handling them... but I've never understood people complaining about the regular Apple cables. I've NEVER had one fray on me. They get discolored after a few years, but they don't fray, as long as you're not a complete moron when unplugging them. Careless people grab the cable and pull. Smart people (and there don't seem to be many of them) grab the connector and pull. Less stress on the connecting point, and no fraying.
I was hoping so, For some reason I had the thought that Apple was going to up the power requirements if they were switching from A to C for USB, however now that I think about it, that would be a really stupid thing to do. But it wouldn't be their first.Of course you can use USB-A to Lightning.
It happened on the iPad and on Macs.Never going to happen.

why usb-c just for 1 year...since from 2021 iphone goes port-less
Over £30 because of the manual stitching process done by magical hands 😅Looks nice! I wonder what the price will be though....🤑
I have enough extra unused lighting to USB-A that this doesn't bother me one bit. My 7th gen ipad has lightning.Absolute f idiocy which makes me want to NOT buy an iPhone again.
Apple put a god damn USB-C in it. Why this joke of a cable that I now have to carry around with me all the time so I can charge my phone, when my iPads and Macbooks all have USB-C DIRECT charging without stupid dongles. Such a waste.
"Courage" to keep it.No "courage" to rip that lightning bandaid finally off. Pathetic.

I'm sure if I had to, finding an outlet with charge ports of type C isn't also hard these days. I have surge protectors with USB A ports of about 2.1A capacity. The simplest solution would probably be getting a small USB A male to USB C female adapter. A quality one is between 5-10$. I am in the same boat, but am planning on getting the new Air, so that will come with the 20W power adapter. I would still need this extra dongle, though, to connect any of my devices to the MacBook Pro from 2015.
They can sell an adapter for that! That would make 98% of CarPlay enabled cars redundant. Not sure if it’s even an option in most cars.
Tyrannosaurus rex? Me too, frequently!I’m thinking of a word. It begins with a T
