You can see how much higher off the desk the bottom of the body is due to the increased height of the feet - adds to the illusion of increased thickness, but likely helps with giving the chassis room to breathe for cooling.

I don’t mind the thickness. As long it performs well. It gives more space to the battery life.
I don’t really care what it looks like because they included every feature I’ve wanted for the last 5 years and powerhouse performance.
Horrible design. The all-black keyboard looks worse than the previous iterations. The notch is a disaster. The only good thing they did was remove the Touch Bar - which in itself was a huge misstep when introduced. At least they acknowledged that and got rid of it.
And if Apple used the advances of their silicon to make the device thinner, but with the same battery life as before - “Nobody cares about it being thin! Stupid Jony Ive design! We wanted better battery life!!”
With that notch she looks like she's scowling at MacRumors for taking all those naughty eye-candy photos.

Thought the same. Even if we ignore the notch for a moment, the body looks a bit disproportionate(?). Like it should be a bit shorter (and the touchpad smaller).
Not a really a looker IMO. I’m not a fan of the black keyboard background, looks much thicker than before since it is no longer tapered, and the notch just looks weird. However I’m ok with Apple following some function over form for a change.

Now that's a tall menubar. It's got half the height of the default dock size.
It’s gorgeous, for sure, but this time, the MacBook pro is not for me. Not anymore. I’ve been a MacBook pro owner for almost 10 years, but now I am the consumer target for a regular MacBook (Air). Honestly, the M1 (or M2 eventually) is more than enough for me. Also, fanless machines are nice

To be fair, that’s the only thing I don’t quite like. Not the notch, but that thick menu bar. I think they could make it 1mm narrower

Totally not sure looking at the 14" about my 16" now its looks so chunky and awkward on the pictures that I imagine the 16 will look more so...
I am seriously wondering if I should of gone for the 14 but I keep saying to myself the 16 is no bigger than my 2012 Retina 15 and about the same weight, but even so compared to my 2012 the design just looks so wonky I think its the thick lid that putting me off at the moment.
