Heck, Apple may have it ready for purchase on Monday.
I doubt it.

They probably want to keep the developers focused on the WWDC seminars and events, not have everyone march up the block to the Apple Store to stand in a long line to buy the new iPhone.

Also, logistically, it would make more sense for Apple to stage the launch by rolling out software and services before the hardware launch: OS X, iPhone OS, iTunes, etc. They have tried in the past to launch everything on the same day with disastrous results. Hopefully, they have learned their lesson.

Remember, Apple is very lightly staffed. I don't think they can actually accomplish all that on the same day.

Anyone catch this from the link?

Anyone see this write up in the link? I bet they're wrong. :)

One other note is that the model # of the device in these pictures is XXXXX. Usually that indicates a prototype model. Usually you don’t see prototype pictures so close to a model release, which makes us wonder if the iPhone 4G really will be released at WWDC.

With the leak of a claimed white front panel for the next-generation iPhone last month, it appears that if the parts are in fact legitimate that Apple will be bringing the existing iPhone color option of a white back around to the front of the device. Since that time, additional photos of the white front panel have surfaced as interest in mockup renderings of the full device in white has been on the increase.

Repair shop PowerbookMedic today appears to offer the first apparent proof that Apple is at least planning to continue offering the option of a white back with the next-generation iPhone. The evidence comes in the form of images sent to the shop showing several claimed iPhone parts.

Notably, the white back case contains placeholder text for the model number and other identification numbers, suggesting that the parts represent a prototype build and are not from the final release widely rumored for introduction at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference next week.

In addition to the white back panel, PowerbookMedic also received images showing the same white front panel seen in previous leaks, as well as the digitizer and midboard assemblies.

Looks nice, following the same white style of the mac mini, macbook and mighty/magic mouse etc.

But I would have thought that it looks a bit out of place next to a glass and aluminium macbook pro.

And at least it wouldn't show up scratches and smudges as bad as a black one.

Damn. There goes my ability to pre-order. I'm gonna need to hold this in my hand before I decide.

I've NEVER liked the previous white iPhones because the front and back mis-matching was weird. If both sides are white, I'll consider it this time.

That's exactly my stance. I really loved the white back, but the black front offended my delicate design sensibilities. If it really is matching, my next iPhone will probably be white.

I may go white this time. It's such a better design than the previous turd designs. This will also help alleviate the cracking issue on the case from normal use due to Apple's horrible design of the previous iPhone curved back. "Oh, you have a cracked back, I'm sorry, you're out of warranty. You can upgrade for $600 even though the reason it cracked is solely our fault. If you have a complaint feel free to try a class action lawsuit."

Fake. :apple: doesn't use cheap plastic like that. :apple: doesn't believe in having seams in their products - collects dirt, aesthetically displeasing to the I's.

There's no plastic on the phone. The back is ceramic or glass. Unibody MacBook Pros has seams in the to access parts on the inside. "I's" - really?

That bottom seam really makes me believe that Steve Jobs needs to lay off the pain meds. Seriously, how the hell could he approve such a design ? Apple NEVER has ugly seams like that. The rest of it, eh ... I am still not sure what I think of it. The buttons on the side also look very non-Apple.

I am very serious and scared when I say ... is Apple losing it ?

OMFG HIDEOUS! IT HAZ SEAMS AND SCREW YOUS!

Seriously though, I won't buy it if it has seams. I can thank Apple for my snobby taste for design. Either way, they 7th couldn't be here sooner. I'm buying a freakin cryo chamber to get through this week.

We'll see in 5 days ;)

There is one thing I observed... Apple is often criticized by community members. Some even go and say that "I won't buy it unless this and that". But I'm pretty sure these persons end up buying it anyways, when they realize that "it's not that bad after all".

I think that all of these photographs are fake... and I mean every "leaked" iPhone '4G' photograph.

Why would Apple want to break the consistencies relating to the physical design of their products? Look at the notebook line-up; they look very similar.

Also, look at the iPad and iPhone (current); they also look similar.

Why would they immediately, and abruptly, halt this consistency in design?

Sorry, the iPad looks much more like the 4G iPhone and iMac than any of the previous incarnations of the iPhone.

Obviously. They must have lost it a long time ago when they started making everything in brushed metal since that was so un Apple like. Or maybe when they stopped making bright colors on their laptops and desktops was when they lost it since it was un Apple like. No wait. Perhaps it was when they stopped making a mouse shapped like a hockey puck. Maybe when they started making non computer consumer devices?

Anyone who says something new is un Apple like needs a crash course in Apple history.

Apple's current design is all sharp edges and flat panels, the 3GS with it's plastic back and chrome bezel are at complete odds with the rest of the range.
