Does the new Slider leave a small smudge on the back of the iphone when you take it off? I have an older slider and it leaves small smudges that are wiped off easily. I think these occur because of the rubber rails on the inside of the case.

After reapplying my crystal film screen protector, I would have to agree with Ferris23. The old 3G version is great and slides off well. I haven't had any issues with it being too loose or too tight now. Everything works perfectly. I wouldn't spend any extra money on the 3GS version if you don't care for the "s-stand" which isn't really that useful.

Some of these cases cost less than $5 to make, sometimes less than $1. Incase makes a killer profit by selling it for $35, but I also think that its reputation for scratching iPhones is only contained in the type of community that actually does research (very small percentage), still seems like its being the most popular case for the iPhone is still strong. But for the price of one Incase Slider, I got 3 iFrogz Luxe cases (Blue, Green, and Red) for me, my mom, and dad. We love them, they make the phones look even cooler with a nice design and still offer decent protection. My dad has already dropped his on concrete and the case isn't even scratched. I have a BestBuy giftcard for the exact price of a Slider (returned it a month ago), but don't plan on buying it again. I've really gotta wonder if Incase bothered to address this problem by just making it slightly bigger or at least changing that hard plastic section that scratches the phone. I know they've heard of it, but whether they didn't want to spend the hundreds or thousands of dollars to address it is up to their business idea that the majority of people still think it's a good case. They've lost my $39 though.

Agreed! All of these cases are very cheap to make. If apple can make iPhones for $175, there is no way incase is making these for a high price. They do make good products, but at a very high mark up!

I just got the "new" black matte slider for my 3GS and I am a little disappointed. There is a gap between the top and bottom pieces and the front bezels do not line up. My wife has a gunmetal on her 3G and everything lines up perfectly. I used to have the white and it lined up perfectly too.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Am I really the only person to think that the Incase Sliders feel cheap? Since these new package have no seal on the bottom, you can just slide the case out to feel it, and I can't see why these are so popular, the matte black case didn't even feel rubberized or as "premium" as most smartphones made out of matte plastic.

reason main for me is that it's reliable, no cause is perfect but i find myself always going back to the slider no matter what case i use liek the candyshell and air jacket. It feels solid with the phone and serves the purpose with good protection. Though i admit that getting ur phone scratched cause of the case is a little frustrating.

Using the slider with the ps matte screen is jsut beautiful, fits perfectly nice and u can jsut leave it there and not care about it anymore :D although i changed back to crsytal cause of the brilliant screen, i recommend this combo to anyone interested :p

I got back from vacation and had a sec to take pics of the metallic orange new incase slider.

For all the people that say its the same case, yes the look is the same, BUT the finish is completely different. The old sandy matte feel is no more and replaced with a rubber/matte finish. Very hard to explain, but I can say that the finish is improved. I never had a problem with the "super tight cant get off problem" but I can say this new version slides on like butter.

No problem with PS Anti-Glare as you can see and the case fits like a glove. (I had problems with 2 charcoal sliders recently)

Here are the pics (looks WAY better in person)

There is no new version based on fit, at all. The new finish feels a little too soft and not as grippy as the old matte.

I just bought the "new" version and i love it, but i think they messed up my making it a bit looser. The phone now slides out when i insert a headphone jack. So i had to put on some vinyl in the back of the phone to keep it from sliding out so much.

hmm i dont have that problem. maybe return for another one?

don't just blurt out things, because your completely wrong

the sliders were are all remanufactured

I'm not wrong, just because yours is looser there are other members buying the "brand new" slider and it's still tight as hell.

You prove to me, with the exception of finish, that they redesigned the thing. You can't.
