That’s great! Please provide us with more big visionOS updates. Each update seems to be improving the product. By the time this device is lowered in price in a few years, it will be packed with features, including apps and games.
Why would apple lower the price, there's no competition, the vision pro is unique.

A "feature-packed update"? Debatable. A feature-packed announcement and eventual cancellation/delay? Definitely!

Not to worry, everybody, because I can now
OFFICIALLY CONFIRM that iOS 19 and visionOS 3 will be the BEST, MOST POWERFUL, MOST CAPABALE versions of iOS and visionOS that Apple has ever released. And Apple didn’t stop there. For the first time ever, all apps feature native Apple Intelligence, taking iOS and visionOS to a whole new level. Apple can’t wait to see the amazing things customers do and Apple thinks you’re gonna love it.

Apple enlisting the shills to run distraction of what a distaster iOS 18 has been by “leaking” tidbits of what iOS 19 will be.

What a weird timeline.

Mac users: “All we want out of next OS releases is performance and stability improvements”

iPad users: “All we want is better multitasking.”

iPhone users: “Everything’s good, all we want is for you to not break anything. And better Siri.”

Vision Pro users: *crickets*

Apple: “Here’s some more AI slop, we know you hogs love that sh*t, line up at the trough you little piggies”
Apple: (I would add) AND 15 NEW EMOJIS!
They love to announce new emojis. And wallpapers. You know, important stuff.

Everything Apple shows for ios 19 at WWDC will be fake news until it actually ships and reviews show up. There have been so many broken promises with ios 18.

No new iphone for me until Siri is fixed. the wallet has slammed shut

I am looking forward to VisionOS 2.4 and 3.0. I love my AVP and will upgrade to the rumored M5 version as soon as it is available.

there are no numbers, hence it’s clearly a commercial flop. If it wasn’t you can be certain Apple would be all over it saying how big a success it was (even if it were a mediocre success at best). The fact they stay quiet can only mean it was a total flop.
unless you have an AVP and used it for the last year your statements do not amount to much, you do not have the expertise to back up your statements. The AVP is for some and not for some. I found a lot of use cases for it (work and entertainment), be mindful of what you say putting out false information is not good.

The release announcements at WWDC really became kind of irrelevant.

Some time ago (say 10 or 15 or 20 years), you'd had a feature-packed major release and what followed where mostly just bug-fixing dot releases.

Now first of all, the features are already split into dot releases (like, feature A will be in iOS 19.1, feature B will be in iOS 19.2 etc.) and Apple is not even able to follow this through and has to delay stuff on and on.

Just stop announcing stuff ahead and announce it when it's actually at least ready for developers.

Those are some major tidbits indeed! There was never a more substantial rumor than this.
almost more substantial then the Apple Watch Ultra 2 black edition. Because adding a new color is as big as it gets post Steve Jobs...

It’s one thing to incrementally drip feed hardware features, but delaying updates to already buggy OS software?

It’s becoming parody at this point. Snow Leopard long forgotten, a memory lost with the serious people who’ve departed Apple over the past decade.

I like where iOS currently stands, it's not a bad OS at all.
I'm not sure, however, if the focus on AI is really the right way to go. I'd much rather have bug fixes and some other sensible features added.

I wonder why Apple did not take a bigger hit from Apple Vision Pro flopping, as it was meant to be the "next big thing" like the iPhone and the iPad. As there will not be an Apple Car, what will be the next big thing? Will Apple make money from services and ads?

Those are some solid "rumors", Gurman 🤣

Also, when he describes as a "commercial flop", it would add some vital context if he specified who considers it a commercial flop. It's quite a difference if he is talking about himself, the market, or Apple executives.

Considering it is priced as high as it is and has confusingly little original content, I highly doubt Apple executives were expecting the Vision Pro to be a commercial hit.

I think it's because many astute observers see the Vision Pro as a glorified test kit rather than a commercial product released in order to generate maximum profit and revenue.

The Vision Pro offers regular people the ability to try spatial computing already today, but I highly doubt that was Apple's motivation in releasing it.

By releasing the Vision Pro, Apple can test their new VisionOS in the wild with actual users and use cases. You can only develop something in a lab for so long until you have to test it in the real world.

So what I am saying is that two things can be true at the same time:

1. spatial computing is a very exciting new UI paradigm and can potentially usher in a whole new era of use cases, apps, services, and even industries

2. the Vision Pro as it currently stands is not a very compelling product

Really feels like Apple peaked about 4 or 5 years ago and they;'re now just riding the wave.

The 3 things keeping me on the platform are iMessage, Photos and Apple Music. If I could find an easy way to replace the tight iPhone/Mac messages integration and migrate my photos (with tags), and music collection (a combination of uploaded unmatched mp3s, matched mp3s and Apple Music songs) then I'd probably leave.

But it just seems too much hassle for now.

Windows 11 is pretty slick and the recent Samsung Android phones are amazing.
