I think Apple is gonna save the iMac Pro for fall and announce the new Mac Pro at WWDC with availability alongside the iMac Pro in September.

I'm so out of the loop here. Does the iPad Air support Touch ID or Face ID? I need to upgrade from my old base iPad.

If they can bring the Mac Mini M1 Pro in at the current Intel model price of $1099 (remembering the current base level MacBook Pro M1 Pro is $1999) would that make it the best value computer on the planet? And will they hit that price point?
i wish it could be 1099 but it won't happen. the current base m1 pro is the one with 8 cpu 14 gpu core 16gb ram 512gb ssd. if you upgrade the current mac mini to have 16gb ram and 512gb ssd, it'll cost 1099. i think this automatically means that the base m1 pro mac mini will not be 1099. if they sell it at 1099, then they may have to drop the mac mini price down to 499 or something. i'm down for that tbh.

This year, I'm personally looking forward to an iMac with M1/M2 Pro >24" without iMac Pro pricing. Or Mac mini with M1/M2 Pro to hook up with a new Apple display under $2k.

Apple Watch SE is welcome, though I doubt another would come so soon. I may not get one anyway since I've been several months without a watch and only miss a few things.

I agree.... Probably start at $1299 if we are lucky - and when was the last time we were lucky? ;)

If they release a hot-rodded Mini, adding a new Apple display with mid-level specs (an iMac display with no chin would suffice) … well, both would get my money.

are we really gonna see ALL THAT in only one event ?

I mean both super low end device and very very high end ones ?

how about a MBA m2?
I had the same thought but I think what apple will do is that the spring event will be mac-focused to give the iMac and possible the emac mini the spotlight. The iPad and iPhone SE, since they’re really just spec bumps, are most likely going to be announced via press release instead. Then again, it’s possible that’s the SE and iPad get an honourable mention at the start of the event.

We shall see!

Hoping the 2022 iPad Pro will be part of the lineup. It usually is for these spring events. My 2018 IPP is getting a bit long in the tooth.
Zero chance for an iPadPro in spring. The next iPadPro will be M2 based, and that processor is most likely going to be introduced in June at WWDC. Most likely the next iPadPro based on M2 will be introduced in October/November together with the next MacBook (Air).

Got the maxed out M1Maxmacbkpro & it's great. Would love the mini to be same spec but w more ports - although the dock I have means 1 connection at work or home - super convenient.
Could do with twice the power - so mini pro w 2 chips please - and a handle. Great design as well so looks good on the desk.

The higher end Mac Mini can't come soon enough! If it doesn't materialise, I may consider an iMac Pro if it's 30 or 32" though. Either way, I *really* need a new desktop machine as soon as possible.

Earlier this week, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman tweeted that Apple "will be holding a spring event" to announce a new iPhone SE and other hardware. In a recent edition of his newsletter, Gurman said the event is likely to occur in March or April.

Gurman did not elaborate on what "other hardware" will be announced at Apple's purported spring event, but rumors suggest at least four products are likely to be unveiled, including a fifth-generation iPad Air with similar features as the new iPad mini, a new iPhone SE with 5G, and two new Macs powered by the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

New iPad Air

A fifth-generation iPad Air is in the works with features that will bring it to parity with the sixth-generation iPad mini, including an A15 Bionic chip, a 12-megapixel Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage support, 5G support for cellular models, and Quad-LED True Tone flash, according to Japanese blog Mac Otakara.

The report said the new iPad Air will have the same overall design as the current model, including a single-lens rear camera. Released in October 2020, the current iPad Air features a 10.9-inch display with slim bezels, a Touch ID power button, and a USB-C port, with color options including Space Gray, Silver, Green, Rose Gold, and Sky Blue.

New iPhone SE

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that the third-generation iPhone SE will feature the same design as the current model, with a 4.7-inch display, Touch ID home button, and thicker bezels. Kuo said key upgrades to the device will include 5G support and a faster processorreportedly the A15 Bionic chip found in iPhone 13 models.

Bigger changes to the iPhone SE are not expected until at least next year. Apple plans to release a fourth-generation iPhone SE with a larger 5.7-inch display in 2023 or 2024, according to display industry consultant Ross Young, who has proven to be a very accurate source of display-related information for future Apple products.

The report, citing reliable sources in China, claimed that the new iPad Air could be announced alongside the third-generation iPhone SE this spring.

Redesigned 27-Inch iMac

Apple is rumored to be planning a redesigned 27-inch iMac with a mini-LED display for release in the first half of 2022. The new 27-inch iMac is expected to support ProMotion, enabling a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz for smoother content and scrolling.

The new 27-inch iMac is rumored to be powered by the same M1 Pro and M1 Max chips that debuted in the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro last year. The switch to Apple silicon should result in a thinner design similar to the 24-inch iMac.

High-End Mac Mini

Apple is also expected to release higher-end Mac mini models with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips this year, and while a specific timeframe has not been rumored, a March or April announcement would make sense alongside the new 27-inch iMac.

Apple already updated the Mac mini with the M1 chip in November 2020, but only for lower-end configurations, with higher-end models still using Intel processors.

APPLE PLEASE DON'T SCREW UP THE 27" iMAC LIKE YOU DID THE 24"!!!!

keep it thick so the ports are in the right places, the power plugs into the back and leave the colours for the low end models. EOM

hopefully 1299 is the base price and it has 10/16 cores. i suppose the mac mini is more capable of handling heat so maybe apple will just dump all of the low binned m1 pro chips on the 14" macbook pro.

We’ve been tormented by the lie of the mythical “big screen” SE for a few years already. So now it’s being pushed to 2024?
This is entering Apple Car and VR headset and Nuclear fusion nonsense…. just a few years away

I'm curious, I've been looking to upgrade to the 13 Pro Max from my s10+ - do these events typically cause places to do promotions?

Do Bestbuy/cell providers typically offer something around the time of phone announcements?

Other than Apple adding a mini-LED display to the 11” iPad Pro and Wi-Fi 6E, there’s nothing else that needs to be upgraded on the iPad Pro. You’re looking at early 2023 before a replacement is ready to go. Plan accordingly.

Curious to know what new color iPhone 13 will be introduced. Last year it was stunning, beautiful purple.

While that Purple was beautiful...pretty colors are lost on me. After I slap that bad boy into a protective case, I won't be seeing it's color unless I have to take it out for some reason.

A base Mac mini Pro will most likely start at $1299 for M1 Pro/16GB/512GB. They’ll continue to sell the M1 mini alongside this one.
