The Apple store here in Greensboro, NC still had units at 6:30pm. I also saw some in the display case at the local Best Buy as well. I think part of the reason why the preorders sold out so quick was that Apple wanted to make sure the brick and mortar locations had plenty in stock.

It was great being able to walk into the Apple Store and just buy one with almost no wait. Best Buy had some in stock still this afternoon.

Great job on inventory this time.

Cheers,

We are, what, 24 hours into the product launch and there is already a 3% market adoption which is huge. I bet we see 10%+ within a week. The fact that there is still stock for this weekend only shows how much better prepared apple was for this launch.

I went to the Washington Square Apple Store in Tigard, OR this afternoon. My iPad was having major problems connecting to 4G or even 3G so I had to go to AT&T. The Apple Store was sold out of all 4G models. I was thinking about trading up and getting the 64GB model, but all of the 4G was totally gone for both Verizon and AT&T.

There were still iPads in stock this afternoon at the Fashion Show mall on the Las Vegas strip. Last year the line was wrapped around the mall. The guy told me that had whatever I wanted in stock, but I had two boxes waiting at home for the wife and I.

They had most models in stock at one of the local Best Buy stores too.

Maybe this will help me score a cheap(er) iPad 2 for the mother-in-law so she can Facetime my daughter (her only grandchild and the only one she will ever have).

I'm the Christiana Mall in Delaware. They have very small lines. All wifi models instock. All 4G models sold out.

I stopped at Best Buy this evening to make a return and noticed that they actually had a nice stock of the new iPads. I'll be trading my iPad 2 in for the new one in about a month or so.

Apple had no reason to be conservative this go around. The iPad is insanely popular, and they know this. I had absolutely no intentions of upgrading from my iPad 2, but I'm a sucker for that beautiful retina display! :D

I walked into the Apple Store in Naperville today at 6PM and they had all models available. Plenty of people buying them, but plenty of stock as well.

This number is probably misleading. EVERY iPad 3 owner today is spending significant time with their new gadget (browsing web etc.) This will skew the stats.
