New Ipad Pre-order "lost" fedex tracking not working

yep! its "initiated" doesnt give me any detail as to where it is just says they recieved the info. keeping my fingers crossed still
Are you saying that your initial iPad order has its tracking number back again?

yep! just says initiated, doesnt say where it is, but does say eta march 16th 3 pm Austin TX.

Quirky things do happen with Apple and Fed Ex. Last June, my hubby sent his iPad 2 in for service due to serious overheating issues. We are 3 hours away from an Apple Store so had no other option.
After keeping it for 3 days and not repairing it (another whole story), it was packed up for return to us. A Fed Ex ticket was issued with a tracking number. From that point, the iPad entered the nether world, never to be seen again. It was never picked up according to Fed Ex and Apple said it was. "Record Not Found" was the response on tracking.
Apple made it right by overnighting a new iPad 2, and making us the same generous offer that OP received. Stuff happens unfortunately.
To OP...we ended up going all the way up the chain of command to get the problem resolved. Call back, and keep asking for supervisors. They should overnight you your pre-order. They will if you go high enough!!

A bit off-topic but something similar happened to me once.
I ordered a Pair of Oakley sunglasses off Amazon, the day that they were suppose to be here my UPS tracking still said the "Info was received" but never shipped. Called Amazon, they sent me a replacement pair via UPS Overnight Express. Later that day, my UPS updated and my 1st pair of glasses were delivered, next day the second pair. Got 2 pair of Oakleys for the price of one!
I will be insanely jealous!
