This is intentional Chinese/Russian trolling of Apple-America, sort of psychological economic warfare.

The manufacturer in China is politically "encouraged" to send an early production sample to the dear Russian friends, to show those American adversaries on whom Tim Apple really depends and who is actually in control.

By the way, Apple also stopped offering gift receipts 🧾 and gift packaging for a few years already for online orders

Do they still offer those things but now charge for them?

Can someone explain this: when iPhone Pro (Max) users swear by the idea that the iPhone Pro needs a big battery and lots of power, and that thickness isn’t a problem but rather an acceptable compromise to get maximum performance. Then why do iPad Pro users fully accept the iPad Pro being so thin?

In the long run, Apple devices will get thinner. For example, laptops are down from 10.3 inches thickness in 1989, to 4.3 inches in 1999, to 2.7 inches in 2009, to 1.6 inches in 2019, and on and on.

But two aspects factor in:

  • if you have a lot of horizontal area, you can spread the components — especially the battery — more easily. Hence the thin iPad.
  • the iPhone specifically has become the primary way many people take photos. Camera technology hasn't seen the same kind of miniaturization as computers, which leads us to now comically large "iconic plateaus".
If it were possible, today, to. make the iPhone Pro as thin as the iPad Pro, while maintaining the same camera quality, Apple would jump at the chance.

the m1 iPad Pro is still over kill, who needs m5
yes there is no need to buy a new one, same as M1 Macbook Pro and iPhone - keep them until they brake - speed bump is for most people not important anymore - it is just fast enough

USA: we are sanctioning Russia and forcing companies to stop making business there.
