New iPhone 5 Pre-orders Through Verizon Slip to September 26 Delivery [Update: AT&T at 14-21 Days]

I placed a preorder through AT&T just now and the confirmation stated that my iPhone 5 will ship in 14-21 business days...
I had the same issue but was able to log into the order-status page and update the shipping address to the correct one this morning.
I had the same problem. However, after you checkout online and your order is processed you can login to your Apple account and check the order status. Simply click the edit near the shipping information and it will allow you to change it. Worked perfectly in my situation, as I have an old address in my billing info for AT&T.
Order my iPhone through apple.com this morning at 6:30am EST.
Have been refreshing my order in the apple store, and just saw this: http://d.pr/i/GLOj
Called AT&T to see if I should cancel that and order through them. They told me you'll get the new iPhone when it ships in 2-3 weeks.
I know everyone loves getting upset at these things, and I hate to add to the noise, but it is annoying that I ordered through Apple.com when it said "2 weeks", but the date in that graphic above says Oct 5th, which is 3 weeks.

I'm truly sorry for everyone that will have to wait an excruciatingly long 2-3 week waiting period on their new iPhone. I hope your current iPhone will keep working over this period and that you will not take drastic action that could put yourself in harms way.

in the verizon store i manage i have had people cuss at my employee's and just be very rude when they are told that they will have to wait a little longer to recieve their phones....

My email confirmation says 9/21. I called verizon and was ASSURED that "as one of the first to pre-order" I would get it BY 9/21. She said those ordering later this morning wouldn't get it till after the 26th.

I didn't spot the hysteria you must have read, that would warrant this facetious (and wholly unoriginal) comment.
Anyway. I think it's low that AT&T's website proudly states "Your iPhone 5 16GB will arrive on 9/21/12" on the product page, and it is only after you have gone through the entire order process that they reveal that it's 3-4 weeks.
I pre ordered the iphone 5 at about 3:30 am EST, I got the confirmation page saying my order went through. However i did not get an e-mail from AT&T. My credit card has a $1.00 pending transaction from AT&T so I am kind of sure it did go through, however i am not positive
good grief people. relax... it's just a phone. people with an iphone4/4s.... it's the same thing anyways.... with an extra row of icons!
got the exact same thing from Sprint... I hope that means we will be receiving them next friday

did they do a credit hold to confirm your identity over the phone with the credit check company?
I had the same thing if that was the case
i recieved a message saying dates had been pushed back long after that time you should be fine, im 99% sure u will get it on the 21st
ATT Preorder Shipments
Just got off the phone with a very nice customer service lady with ATT. She did confirm that shipments for the new iPhone are now in fact 14-21 days. Looks like best bet will be to wait outside a retail store next Friday if you want the new phone on launch day.
