New iPhone 5 Pre-orders Through Verizon Slip to September 26 Delivery [Update: AT&T at 14-21 Days]

I'm on a premier personal responsibility account. Tried to order last night, got to last step, it kicked me out with java errors when I tried to go to step before confirming purchase. Kept trying but didn't work. Went to sleep. Could have bought on apple.com, but with Premier no upgrade fee, free ship, and last time they didn't charge me sales tax (on 4S).

Tried at 5:30am PT, loaded up att, and it put me right back where I was in the process. Bought phone, got this message in email confirmation:

"Your iPhone has been reserved and should arrive as soon as Sept 21, 2012."

The order status screen (click link in email) shows no date.

I'm expecting it to not arrive on 9/21. Whatever, my 4S is fine. Will get it when I get it.

Preorder and in store?

I went ahead and ordered from AT&T on their site. The site said deliver by 21st, but my confirmation email said 14-21 days later. My thought is to just leave it as is, and if I don't get a shipping notification by Thursday, then I'll sleep over at AT&T and pick up an in store phone and just cancel my online order.

Anyone have any ideas why this wouldn't work?

There was a Wii U article and the first comments were bashing the iPhone. LMFO I dont know what people get so worked up over Apple for, but that must be mindshare as well, must have some interest if they whine about its existence in an unrelated topic.

When the Galaxy s4 comes out with its .1 inch bigger screen and a slightly updated processor that will be a BIG deal and innovative to the net nerds.

Nothing against the galaxy personally for me. Besides touchwiz and only 1 OS update ever more than likely.

same here. Premier order and still waiting for any confirmation other than the initial order recognition e-mail. I think all AT&T orders are still pending - haven't heard from anyone yet who has seen an actual shipping confirmation beyond the "Your iPhone has been reserved and should arrive as soon as Sept 21, 2012.". But I might be mistaken (?)

this is exactly what I received too. I've tried to access my ATT order status but their site says it takes up to 24 hours for new orders to post.
 
As I mentioned in another thread, I got up around 4:30am EST as I always do. Went to Apple, saw the wait slip to two weeks. Immediately went to AT&T site and literally breezed through the preorder process for a black 32gb. 3 minutes maybe? I only ordered the iPhone. I figure if I want to change plans, buy junk for it, it can wait til I get it. I didn't want to complicate the process.

I received a confirmation email roughly an hour later saying my order has been processed. Order sent to warehouse for shipment. I received a text also stating my preorder has been processed. I will be notified on shipment.

Will I get it by 9/21? Don't know. I waited this long. A week or a few more weeks, my current iPhone still works.

I am still waiting for my confirmation email. When i ordered from the premier site on AT&T it said by the 21st. I hope that does not change once i get the confirmation email which i am waiting for.

EDITED: I couldn't log on till like 4am central time, so i hope that doesn't change my ship date.
 
I went ahead with my pre-order (on the VZw webiste) this morning at 9:00 EST. Actually called it in instead of submitting online.

My confirmation email says delivery by 9/21. Hope it works out.. I'll live it doesn't.

That happend to me last year with the iPhone 4S and it did it again last night with the iPhone 5. Eventually you get a confirmation email. I believe it stated that due to volume it might be 24 hours till you get one. I have the original email that says the 21st and it has the order number so I should be good.
 
Couldn't get through w/ AT&T last night, or this morning, and now its 14-21 days! I'm a premier member, trying to add a line to a family plan.

Guess I'll just go hang out at the AT&T store on 9/21...
 
My att email (premier order) says it should arrive as soon as Sept 21 also.

Checked my credit card and it has been billed for the full amount. I would think that would be indication that the item is ready to ship.
 
I ordered my iphone 5 last night but I switched the Billing information to my wife's credit card and I put in her phone # under the Credit Card phone # section.

When I review my Apple order, it only shows her phone # everywhere for "billing info" and "shipping" etc. Where does Apple show you the phone # of the device being ordered?

Of course my wife's phone # is part of our family plan with ATT and she has an iPhone 4S and did NOT order a new phone. I'm concerned it may have switched the 'order' to her phone #. I can not see any place where it lists my iphone 5 as for "me", except of course based on my Apple ID when I log in. But how come the Device phone # isn't shown anywhere now?

Umm impossible or misunderstanding?

I just pre-ordered mine today (first one in town woot) from verizon and I'm guaranteed an iPhone on the 21st? :confused:
 
I just pre-ordered my black 32GB from Rogers Canada. It says if I don’t receive it in 14 days I get $50 credit to my account for the inconvenience. :D

I know sarcasm is sometimes hard to detect on the internet, but I'm seriously surprised/disappointed in the amount of people who have fallen for this.
