Wait, how is the phone sitting even on the back if the camera lens sticks out? This looks like a mish mash of all of the supposed leaked parts, but considering many of these parts are likely throw-away parts, how could this be seen as a final design? Don't get me wrong, I love the design, but I just think that because of the breaks between parts, the cracking antenna breaks, and very scratched pieces it is likely that F&V has been slowly leaking these false parts and finally put them all together, just for the sake of clicks.

looking at their instagram account, i hope the back ends up looking like this:

but the more credible-seeming leaked photos seem to suggest a clunky, protruding camera and less gracefully camouflaged joints than those seen here.

holy *****!

I have a feeling this phone will have the same "shock value" for me as picking up the iPhone 5 for the first time after using an iPhone 4 for 2 years. It didn't look all that different/special in pictures, but when you picked it up for the first time it felt much different/better than I was expecting.

I still think iPhone 4 was Apple's prettiest phone with it's lovely looking round volume buttons and (impractical) glass backing. However, their first iPhone did look gorgeous also.

Don't need to protect the screen...it's sapphire...:)

Wrong…

I don't think sapphire is shatterproof. Scratch proof, maybe.

Correct. Benefit is more scratch resistance (a problem that seems to be a minor or perhaps even rare issue for most, being "solved" by a more expensive transparent, rounded-edge rectangle). Sapphire will shatter about as easily as gorilla glass. Even a diamond screen would shatter. Sapphire is almost entirely about more scratch resistance… and maybe a more lucrative screen replacement profit.

I can see why Apple is looking at using the lightning connector as a headphone connection. That 1/8" jack now looks positively huge.

That and the licensing dollars Apple would be paid for standardized connector adapters and/or new headphones that exclusively terminate with lightning connectors.

Another option would be to deem 7mm thin enough and let any additional guts miniaturization going forward result in space for more battery or other new hardware benefits. Then, a long-term audio jack standard that works with everything could persist and we won't need adapters or new headphones.

By far, the most comfortable iPhone to handle and hold.

Looks like it. However, the nice ability to have the 5s on it's side for a timed photo appear over unless one buys a case or other hardware to support that kind of positioning. Not a big loss except for those that enjoy that particular benefit of flat sides.

If indeed this is the iphone6 it's not as exciting as I had hoped.for. That doesn't mean it's not good and combined with iOS 8. It should be better

Props for not showing the back... ;) everything else does seem to look decent, even though I wasn't a big fan of the current iPod touch's design.

At the least, have comparison images to the same scale. That top view makes the phone look thicker than does the side view.

Too narrow a bezel and options on the screen will be touched that were not intended.

TMZ had video on Monday of the iPhone 6.

+1

Just gotta add my +1. I really like this. Minimal as *****! The ring around the screen is interesting. I wonder if it's a bumper of some kind to cushion impact to the screen. or maybe an antenna. or maybe both!

looks like only apple headphones will fit into this headphone jack just like the original iphone

The original iPhone works with any headphones that have a straight and narrow connector, not just Apple headphones. None of the 'L'-shaped ones work, so it's annoying.

I feel people are liking the design way more than when the 5 was announced. It always takes a little getting used a new design and this one (fat antenna breaks excluded) will be a real looker.

We all know 99% of you will wack it in a case and never see the design in the end so don't hate it because of it's backside.

it's actually beautiful.

the lines might ruin the back a bit (which is suspiciously missing from these photos) but it really does look gorgeous.

Looks like I'll be getting this. Was leaning on getting the white version but I can't imagine it looking better than that.

I agree. The 5S looks really great in white, I especially like the gold, but everything I've seen of the 6 makes me think it'll look best in black. Really looking forward to seeing the finished versions of the two phones.

All these turns around the edges makes the phone susceptible to scratches with a case. the 4, 4s, 5 and 5s could take straight cases which wouldn't scratch the bezel unlike those ugly 3g's.

But then again this is Apple. Their point of selling the phone is to make it look ugly with regular wear and tear so people switch/buy new. IMO the 5 and the 5S is their best design. I would have loved a slimmer bigger screen iphone 5S look alike.
