Not going to read the whole thread but has anyone else notice how they seem to have two distinct mock ups? One image, a kind of three quarter view, shows what looks like a black band, the others more like white or silver.

The band isn't black in that pic, it's actually missing and is just a gap in the metal. The back casing is actually from this leak and someone just put the front glass in place. If you look at the pics you'll see that the bands are broken and missing in spots.

Definitely Retro

I think the "iPhone 1 rolled by a steam roller" is perfect. Really digging the all black front. Not to start another topic, but that body alloy looks new to me.

Jusy sayin.........LM. :apple:

Am I the only one who sees the protruding camera?

I see something in that top view that certainly looks like a protruding camera lens/ring. Curiously though, if you look all the way to the right, it appears the right side is floating just as high as the left, which would imply there is some other protrusion to prop up the whole top of the phone.

There was that rumor of an Apple logo sticking out. Maybe it pops out at about the same height as the lens ring to deal with the wobble-on-a-flat-surface worry that had some concerned?

About time- only the backing is silver and the front is black- that colour combination has never been used before.

You mean like the original iPhone? :p

I love this combo. I miss it a ton. This is the first time I've been excited for an iPhone wince the 4.

Sweetness!

Could the thicker antenna bars be for LTE A? Does any phone support this yet?

For some reason I though the Power button wasn't moving.

But then again this is Apple. Their point of selling the phone is to make it look ugly with regular wear and tear so people switch/buy new.

Right. That's their point. </sarcasm>

I've owned every iPhone since the beginning (except the 5c). Never used a case. Never cracked a screen, or got anything more than some scratching on the phone edges. And I never felt compelled to buy a new one because of a few minor cosmetic scratches; rather I chose when to purchase based on capabilities, specs, and needs at the time. You know, like a rational consumer.

I dd a slight manip on it to reflect the space gray black sheme

I think it makes that model look a lot more in keeping with there recent stuff and not as antiquated as the original iphone

You make a great point! Also makes me think the part we are looking at, is a part before the polish is added to the casing. Maybe the white placeholders for the antennas are really to prevent the final finish to make it into those grooves?

Wrong…

Correct. Benefit is more scratch resistance (a problem that seems to be a minor or perhaps even rare issue for most, being "solved" by a more expensive transparent, rounded-edge rectangle). Sapphire will shatter about as easily as gorilla glass. Even a diamond screen would shatter. Sapphire is almost entirely about more scratch resistance… and maybe a more lucrative screen replacement profit.

wrong...

scratched/cracked screens are a rare issue, really?

Did you see the video by that kid Marques? His screen looked a lot like this one and didnt seem very fragile to me. Try bending glass.

The antennae bands don't look too bad in this picture. A bit less jarring so hopefully we'll see something along these lines (pardon the pun).

It seems that I have to remind everyone:

It's important to note that Feld and Volk's images still depict unfinished iPhone 6 parts that are in rough condition, and Apple's completed device will undoubtedly look even more polished.

can we get this part of the article in big shiny red letters? Because its obvious by the comments that most idiots on here don't even read, they just look at the pictures and make obtuse comments about them..

The humanity. lol. We will be extinct one day.

I'm sure many are Android fanatics that come here because of the fear of iPhone 6. I can smell their fear in the air. :p

Wait, how is the phone sitting even on the back if the camera lens sticks out? This looks like a mish mash of all of the supposed leaked parts, but considering many of these parts are likely throw-away parts, how could this be seen as a final design? Don't get me wrong, I love the design, but I just think that because of the breaks between parts, the cracking antenna breaks, and very scratched pieces it is likely that F&V has been slowly leaking these false parts and finally put them all together, just for the sake of clicks.

No, it isn't even depicting the final product. But it's fun to poke iPhone 6 and make a joke or two since we have no clue whatsoever how it actually will look like. I mean we do have a rough idea, literally (as seen in the pic).

Which means there are going to be a slew of bad case designs that don't have enough of a lip and will not protect the edges of the screen when dropped.

That's the case I'm looking for. It'll be easier navigate on Safari since you eventually can swipe left and right.

----------

No matter how much more they polish it this design will feel less classy than the 5s one

Nope. This design is already classier than 5s. Good job Apple!

looks like only apple headphones will fit into this headphone jack just like the original iphone

No this headset jack is still flush like the 3G on, the Lightning Port looks to be a different story however.

If this is final design, I want one NOW. It looks identical to my original iPhone but slightly bigger and flatter.

I know a lot of people hate the antenna breaks, but I would take the perfectly symmetrical horizontal lines that match the color of the front panel then one black, plastic bar covering the lower 1/4 of the back of the iPhone anyway.

Looks kinda ugly but will wait till I see a real version before passing judgment.

Either way it will be in a case. I need to upgrade from the 4.
