I am going to the Apple store tomorrow and see if they are going to fix it for free, on www.ifixit.com other users reported the same issue and they said that they had it fixed free of charge.

A few things:

1) Its not water proof. Apple never claimed it was water proof. It is merely splash resistant. A couple of drops of water shouldn't harm it, submerging it on the other hand is a recipe for disaster.

2) The camera lens is sapphire. Sapphire is scratch resistant, but is more prone to shattering. As glass gets "harder" it becomes more brittle. The fact that you shattered your camera lens so easily proves that its sapphire.

3) The headphones are made form the same material that the last 4+ iPhone's headphones material. I have headphones from the iPhone 5, 5s, 6, 6s and 7. They are feel the same.

Short story: I had my iPhone for one month and one week and the rear camera lens is cracked already.

Im sure the camera lens didn't just crack on its own.
It doesn't matter if you had it 1 day or 2 years, if you drop it it might crack.
Invest in a good protective case, I dont think Apple will repair or replace it for free since its user damaged.

My point is the very poor quality of the fabric.

For work I have a Microsoft phone that constantly drops, still one piece.
[doublepost=1479494313][/doublepost]Plus I had the iPhone 5c for over one year and I dropped it many times and nothing happened.

I dont think its made out of fabric :D
I dropped mine 3 times yesterday. Not sure what happened but I was really clumsy that day and everything is fine with no cracks or damages.
I have a good case on it.
If you constantly drop your devices you should invest in a solid case or Applecare plus for it. It could save you a lot of money and headaches. Its a phone, not a hammer.
Instead of blaming the phone or the company look in the mirror.

No logic in your statement. Just because you dropped your 5C multiple times does not mean a phone won't break if you drop it. Your luck ran out. Simple as that.

thank you for showing off your knowledge.
[doublepost=1479497121][/doublepost]It's funny how you are all defending Apple assuming that I play soccer using the iPhone, you can see from the pictures that there are no scratches.

You self admitted you drop your work phone and prior iPhone often. So while you may not play sports with it you certainly are hard on your devices.

I don't believe anyone is defending Apple. I think it's important to realize that every iPhone will react differently to a fall, pending on how it lands. Some have dropped their iPhones without damage and others like yourself had the unfortunate angle where it landed just right to cause damage.

Bottom line, it happened. I would suggest a very durable case for your next iPhone.

Sounds like you broke it. If you are nice Apple may fix it for free but it did not break itself.

People do not want to take responsibility for their actions anymore. I have owned my 7 from the first day of introduction and my glass has not broken so . . . . .

Sound like you drop your phone a LOT! Invest in a good case and it will save you money!

I will reserve judgement until you tell us exactly how the lens cracked. It certainly wasn't an act of god...

Please take no offense. If you keep dropping your phones, you should probably mention this to your Doctor. Good luck, but seriously, you can't blame apple. Lenses break when you drop them. All the best to you.
