I really don't know if that much radiation is safe. Might give some guys a warm feeling. But a feeling I wouldn't want.

Where I used to work, I've seen too many RF Engineers using wired earphones or Bluetooth pieces when using their smartphones or regular cellphones.

Too much of an RF environment is bad for ones body.
Sure. They keep their cell phones near their waist, so all the radiation hits their reproductive organs instead.

The naming will be an interesting one. If there really is 3 models, I wonder if this is the point where they move away from numbers.

iPhone SE
iPhone
iPhone Plus
iPhone Pro

There's potential for enough models that they can cover a large range of pricing and not need to keep older models around to hit certain price points. Or maybe these new ones in the fall will be iPhone 6gs and new naming starts next year with the supposed crazy redesign?

Exactly go AAPL. It seems there are two flavors here: kool-aid or bash. Are you the former or the latter.

I thought it was obvious when I suggested he was drinking a specially spiked version of the koolaid. Hint: Drinking koolaid is not a good thing. The term's genesis was from the 1978 Jonestown massacre.

Koolaid drinker = brainwashed person who can't think for themselves.

But the latter is a reverse version of the former.

In four years, the 2017 iPhone 8's design will be woefully out of date and people will be clamoring for Apple to "innovate" with a new redesign.

How about just make something that looks good? Like the iPhone 3G, 4, 5... And all those devices worked ergonomically too, didn't have camera humps, didn't have power and volume buttons opposing each other where you squeeze them... The 6 was never a great looking design, it "borrowed" antenna bands from HTC and somehow made them uglier, threw a camera in some random place rather than following the corner radius and used very rounded sides which made it hard to hold. People bought it because it was Apple, people won't do that forever if Apple keep putting no effort in to be the best.

For those that keep complaining that the form factor of the iPhone 7 is boring because it's similar to the 6 design, what exactly do you want Apple to do with the design? If you start with a rectangular screen, what exactly can you do to dramatically change the look / style of the case? It's going to be rectangular in shape. Sharp corners vs rounded? Thick vs thin? Sharp edges vs rounded?

I'm like many people, look forward to the next shift in case materials, such as glass or ceramic, because I think it's about time for a change away from aluminium. But I use my iPhone for work and play and don't really care what it looks like, as long as it performs the tasks I need it to. Those that say they'll shift to Samsung, I'm not sure what differences they think they're getting that have a material effect on use of the phone?

Honestly, that's the job of the designer. I don't know what I want until I see it, and I don't know what I don't want until I see it.

One thing I do know I don't want, is any type of camera bump, much less a larger one.

As stated a few 100 times before:
People expect smaller bezels, a bigger battery, a millimeter thicker chassis so it can contain the camera AND a headphone jack (at least one)
As 10 Chinese rip-off suppliers can do it, Apple should do it better

I don't know what "people" expect as I can't speak for the masses. I can speak for myself.

Koolaid drinker = brainwashed persn who can't think for themselves.

Actually the term existed before Jonestown from Tom Wolfe's book "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test", as used by the conservative establishment -- which is not so much not being able to think for themselves, but stepping outside of reality and embracing something that seems better than it is; joining the drug culture, distorting reality, while believing they are achieving something superior others cannot.

The two uses have gotten mixed up over time since one thing tends to be true when the other is, but Tom Wolfe's is likely more relevant to Apple fanatics.

People, stop complaining... you look like bored people who always try to complain about everything about Apple design these days. Don't like the iPhone, just go somewhere else and shut the f___ up. Thank you.

At least there is still a semi beautiful iPhone.

Usual, expected reply. It's been said thousands of times now, by thousands of people*, since the iPhone 6. Do a poll - for many people this would be all we want from the next iPhone. You can deny it and blah blah blah all you like with the "Apple can do no wrong" fanboy types on this site but when something is said by so many, so consistently, over such a long period you'd have to be blind or have your Apple tinted shades on not to see it.

*and before you do the usual fanboy "well hundreds of millions of people own iPhones so why change for a few thousand", it's a representative portion of forum posters across a range of tech forums, from those that comment, anecdotally and from consensus amongst Apple-using friends, MANY of those hundreds of millions would like this.

I actually like the new camera dimple better, it looks kinda steampunk... now if I can just get a brass colored shell

Can't really tell which is newer so it's a design fail for me. Is Jony Ive's still working at Apple or is he too busy designing a car these days and can't be bothered with what is slowly eroding away as Apple's premier product.

iPhone designers are becoming about as lazy as VW car designers, regurgitating old boring designs and hoping consumers are dumb enough to think they are new and exciting.

Typical type of absolutist reply that attempts to paint a broad stroke of representation without any facts. Then when there is disagree ad-hominems are inserted.

Because I know exactly how it will be replied to. Just open your eyes and get a general feeling about this, "people" aren't impressed with these leaks, they're disappointing all round.

Actually, people bought them (6 6 Plus) because they were on the two year refresh, the larger screens that they offered, and NFC payments. But probably mostly the larger screen offerings. If they had the same screen dimensions as the 5/5S, then they probably would not have sold in the record breaking numbers it did. Saying that they sold well only because it was Apple shows almost a deliberate lapse in memory.

A new video and images posted to Chinese microblogging site Weibo and picked up this morning by NWE offer a side-by-side comparison of an iPhone 7 casing against Apple's current flagship iPhone 6s.

iphone-7-vs-iphone-6s-00-800x600.jpg

Embedded below, the new video runs to over two and a half minutes and gives a much better idea of the prospective design than last week's seven-second clip.

Whatever the origin of the assembled 4.7-inch iPhone 7 unit, it matches the Space Grey of the iPhone 6s, and features the larger camera and repositioned antenna bands seen in previous images and alleged design leaks. It also clearly shows a lack of headphone jack, with a second speaker grille alongside the Lightning port where it used to be.

The model comparison offers an idea of the relative size of the new camera lens and the surrounding bezel that protrudes from the body of the phone. The video and images also line up with previous rumors suggesting the iPhone 7 will retain the dimensions of the iPhone 6s.
