Ah, gee, we really don't know if this is "most likely" what the iPhone 8 will look like. It might, but it might not. Apple has tried a number of different configurations, and just possibly, this might be one of them. We'll know better sometime in August, when real parts start getting stolen.

You must be new here. Literally every year (except for 2007 and 2008) the design of the new iPhone leaks. Literally every. Single. Year.

They are producing millions of these things. The launch is a little over 2 months away. There are hundreds if not thousands of people involved with this project.

What we are seeing is accurate.

A superior phone made for superior people. I hope it costs north of 1 k to make it a truly luxery buy :)

100% medically acurate?

I'm actually starting to dig on the "display horns", I mean, vs. a sharp, horizontal cutoff, why _not_ utilize that space? Even if it's reserved for Apple specific use in the SDK, and I suspect if this is the actual design, that space will just black out for most apps.

Really curious to see if LG shows the V30 OLED Screen at IFA - 1/6 of September. This iPhone 8 is a refined version of LG G6.

I've been complaining that Apple has given up on the computer hardware, but Apple still dominates with OS X/iOS software and dominates with iPhone and iPad. I'm looking forward to the new iPhone.

You mean, thank you, Samsung? S6 edge came out two years ago...

Just saying.

No, he was strictly referring to Apple. It's been requested by many to have the bezels reduced with the iPhone for years. This being the first year, the reduction of the bezels actually gives the iPhone a refreshed look and much needed. It's just one of the many physical changes coming for the new iPhone and honestly, many are welcoming any physical changes at this point.

Will be getting this, it is the kind of leap the iPhone 4 had. Probably just keep my iPhone 6 to remind me of the days of home buttons and headphone jacks!

It will be a lovely phone from the front. The vertical camera not so much. Hopefully it will have better durability than the S8.

Looks very nice and I am more convinced this is what we should expect come September.

Two things that I was hoping for:

1. Edge to edge curved display like Samsung (not a deal breaker and we need to have some sort of grip on the phone without touching the screen).

2. The edge has some some sort of matte aluminum vs. plastic (e.g. jet black). I predict we don't get the back aluminum anymore with the wireless charging rumors.

Overall I hope we keep getting some more leaks!

Cut out is ugly and it elimates 180 degree auto-rotation use of the display.

I really think that'll be used for status info (battery, Bluetooth, etc. on the right, signal on the left) and otherwise blacked out (it'll be OLED) so rotation should be fine. Won't be ugly since OLED blacks are so black, it'll blend right in. So odd to me that so many mock ups don't get this and have the wallpaper or app extending into that space.

It's an improvement over the current design but that remaining black bezel/border still makes it look a little dated. I guess a silver bezel--if offered--would lessen the effect.

Waiting to see it in person, but these renders aren't setting my heart on fire. Rumors continue to point to apps being limited to a 5.1" 16:9 subset of the full-screen display. The top areas around the speaker/camera cutout and a .7" area for a "touch bar" that has the virtual home button and other contextual buttons will supposedly not be usable by apps to extend their displays.

Functionality within iOS will be substantially identical between the 7S and 8. Unless the 8 completely wows me once I see it I don't think I'll spend the extra $350 to get .4" more usable screen size and software buttons. I'll probably delay the upgrade from my iPhone 6+ and wait for the inevitable 6.25" iPhone 8S+ next year.

No way the screen extends up above either side of the speaker and camera at top of the phone. There would be a resulting dead spot there for all apps when in use on an iPhone 8.

Honest question. What's the difference between if the camera is rotated vertically or horizontally? Does it really change the appeal of the iPhone Over the orientation?

I honestly like the idea of rotating it. Video (and some photos) should be taken in a landscape platform. It makes more sense to have it rotated to me. Look at the 5th Gen. iPod Nano that had the camera. Same orientation.

Care to elaborate on what a 7S is?

This 'article' could also in fact just be somebody's insurance claim for a S8 with a smashed screen.
"Oi, 'just dropped me phone and broke it. Would you recommend I claim off me 'ouse insurance or write into MacRumors with an (cough) 'exclusive', wink wink? Know wot I mean, guv?" ;)

Answer: Do both!.
