Thats a watch made using e-ink, I was referring to the nano as a watch.

Really? So you wouldn't want an iWatch with a bit larger screen/slimmer than the 6th gen nano that you can check notifications, use FaceTime/Siri/iPod on? One that looks incredibly dashing? I think with products like LunaTik it's painfully obvious that there is a market for this type of product. Apple will act on this market.

I actually REALLY like the new iPod touches. If I wasn't going to have the ip5 I could definitely see myself with the new touch

Really an iPad 3 LTE + iPod 5 is a great combo. Tethering enables GPS on the go, and you don't have to pull out your phone to take a picture. (Less chances to drop the iPhone. Plus, if you're a heavy music listener then your iPhones battery will be saved.) THEN BUST OUT THE RMBP AND YOU GOT YOURSELF AN APPLE STORE IN YOUR BAG. Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk.

Too bad for whatever dumb reason Lightning doesn't work with Thunderbolt (which I honestly thought was a given) ... You wouldn't be able to keep all 3 charged with your MacBook. Oh wells.

First of all, they are very ugly, very garish, and very "un-Apple-like". The touch and nano look like Sony products, if anything.

Secondly, a wrist-strap? Seriously?

Thirdly, a $299 entry level model? That's the same price as the 8.9 inch Kindle Fire HD. I've heard of the Apple tax, but this is ridiculous.

Overall, the release of these products at these prices speaks to what may be a very disappointing future for Apple. We all knew they would lose their magic one day, but it seems that day has come already.

The first point is purely subjective. I like they way they look and want to see what 3rd party vendors do with the new Nano form factor.

Wrist Straps are great which is why cameras have them. More protection is better than less.

The iPod Touch 4th generation is still around at $199. You cannot compare a Kindle tablet to a device that is designed to be placed in the pocket. The smaller the design the more custom work needs to be done which is expensive.

The design of these products speak to Apple's design ethos and has nothing to do with losing or gaining magic. Your post was long on subjective blather and very short on any meaningful information to take.

The design ins pretty much an ipod touch but the sheer thinness is amazing. Ok.. so maybe the color scheme is what people don't like. Honestly, I don't mind to much but for those who want a black face... your out of luck. White is the only option so I can see why many don't like it.

The strap... um... well, the only logic I have for this is that the iPod touch is probably being marketed to the younger generation. Mom's and Dad's don't want to buy their kids iPhones if they don't have to. This is a reasonable alternative. I for one can't wait for them to go on sale because this is my kids next device to keep them off my iPhone.

Maybe some case makers could make money selling an iPod Touch case that pads the size and shape so it looks like an iPhone? Then other kids would think "Wow! Jerry has an iPhone!"

Maybe the next iPod will come with shoe laces attached to it. Shoe laces are great which is why shoes come with them.

And yours was any different?

Think of it this way
Apple is the most valuable company in the WORLD. Why would apple care about a few thousand people going with a different model/ product

Stop being a troll. The iPod Touch is a camera and the wrist strap simply underlines it's partial identity as such. That, and as a fun product for kids/teens. A thinner one than ever, at that, which gives the strap even more of a reason to be.

The Touch is fine. I'm much less sure about the Nano though. The round icons really makes it feel like a non-Apple product. And I always thought the wristband thing for the previous Nano made quite good sense and could have been built on, for sports, etc. This one just looks like a small pointless toy that just begs to be lost.

Do you guys not remember the iPod Sock "one more thing"?

Compared to that the strap actually looks good....

Meh. I know I'll be rocking the loop. The iPod touch will be my main music/camera/imessage device, with the iPhone/iPad lending it their LTE. The iPad/iPhone will only be taken out for task specific purposes.

Well at least it's actually useful now. The 4-Inch screen will come in handy, and I'm in love with the new design since the old one was way too thin for my hand to hold.

If I see anything, I see improvement. The back is finally made of a durable material, we FINALLY have a decent camera and and LED flash, and now there's actually a way to keep it safe with a wrist strap. I don't know how I feel about the new operating system, though. The pictures of the newer Music app are different and I don't know if I like them or not.

I LOVE the new iPod Touch look. Look how I spelled love in all caps there? That's how much I love it.

But seriously, Apple gets criticism these these how OS 10.8 and iOS 6 are evolutionary instead of revolutionary, how the new iPhone isn't a radical departure from the 4s etc (again, i love the new iPhone). But with the new iPod Touch and Nano, I see that Apple will still try new things in the future, which makes me happy.

The new iPod Touch looks like a great piece of kit. It's going to be used heavily as a PDA device in my hands. The camera will come in very handy too.

Can people stop saying it's a kids toy. I'm 34 and think the iTouch is a great pocket computer.

THANK YOU! It's the thinnest, smallest, most powerful pocket computer ever made. :) Sure it's brother is more powerful, but he's thicker. xD

They are now such a small percentage of Apple profit and revenue that if they dropped them tomorrow, it would barely dent the bottom line. iPhones and iPads are where the money is at.

If they dropped them tomorrow, it would barely dent the bottom line tomorrow. But in the long run it's pretty believable it would have an effect.

How many got introduced to Apple through an iPod and went on to buy those iPhones and iPads? It's not hard to think of ways iPods indirectly affect Apple's profitability - unless you think that Apple consumers only ever buy 1 Apple product or something.

They probably will need a low priced product as a pathway product but Apple's brand awareness is so big now that I'm not sure its needed. At any rate, these new colorful iPods are ideal for early adopting kids so they actually still serve that purpose.

It looks like a giant piece of something that rhymes with "kit".

Ugly as sin.

Someone's jealous the iPod got colors and the iPhone didn't. Aww. Are you mad that the iPod stole the show this year after the i5 was the same thing we all saw months ago? Are you mad that the touch is thinner, cheaper, and more innovative than the i5 while still retaining all of the 5's key specs? If you don't like the touch, GTFO the touch forum.

It's the nicest iPod touch yet, and you bet your ass the next redesign of the iPhone will closely resemble it.

I suggest you not buy one. In the meantime - in the real world

I hope you realize that makes no sense at all. If you don't like Apple products, don't buy them. But whining like this just makes you sound like it's a personal problem you need to deal with internally. Good luck.
