How would you like be a new Apple customer, see the iPod 5G ad and go buy one.. only to find they duped you into it right before presenting a brand new model, also invariably making your *new* iPod worth less? I think that's a bit below Apple.whooleytoo said:If there's a lot of stock remaining in the retail channel, I think it makes good business sense to advertise it; rather than potentially be left with a lot of 5G iPods that would be impossible to shift after the 6G release.
When launching a new product, a company can't avoid having backstock of older models. That's a risk any retail business takes, and that's why Apple has a refurb shop.
