The 13" rMBP is a wonderful computer and I wouldn't mind having that either. I'm thrilled with the rMB, and fortunate not to have had any keyboard problems, but I'd say both computers (assuming everything is functioning) are a couple of the best ones available on the market, so you really can't go wrong. I actually prefer the rMB keyboard to my 15" rMBP keyboard. I am kind of surprised, to be honest.

I've had the same problem with mine with the period key. It doesn't seem to sit correctly — the top left corner is constantly pressed in a little bit. Because of this, if I don't hit the middle to right side of the key, it will not register. Or I have to hit the key significantly harder than any of the other

That's the exact issue I had both time.

Yup, me too. That's exactly the same problem I had with the MacBooks I've returned. It always seems to be the top left corner of the key ...

For me it was the bottom left corner this time. The first time it was actually all four corners of the H key. You literally had to hit it square in the middle to register.

End of story:
They changed my topcase, but because the new trackpad was not working they offered me a new unit... This Macbook seems not reliable at all...

My "D" key went last week, it registered but indented and no positive click, but because it was three weeks old, it was a repair and not a new one. Usual excellent collection with the foam box, and it is due back tomorrow. Still have my MBA which was a cloned copy, so it did not affect me as far as usage went, but it did make me appreciate the improvements in the new model.

The keyboard looked ok, but half of the speaker holes where not punched out, so it's on it's way back and number 5 is on it's way or will be in 2 weeks.

You're a more patient man than I. Three was too many for me-- but FIVE??? No way.

Received my 4th today- enter key is not registered 100% . All silvers. Just curious. Would be nice to hear color of your MacBook!?

I kinda had a hunch this would happen since this is similar to the steel dome switch being used in the iPhone home button.

This would fail so much that i heard that some people who bought a new iphone 4(s) (back when it came out) would immediately switch to the on screen home button in the accessibility setting, in order to for it to work when they would sell it later.

Mine is also silver, though I HIGHLY doubt the color of the device has anything to do with the issues.

Never heard that before.

The 4S was the only other Apple product I've had QC issues with. I went through three replacements for my initial release-day phone (all having scrapes/scratches/nicks on the bezel straight out of the box) until settling with the fourth one. Cosmetic issues aside, I owned that for two years and it was immaculate (spent life in a Defender case) and in perfect working order (including home button) when I sold it.

I'm happy to report that my fourth MacBook is a keeper (all SG btw).

5th was a winner! This one is perfect :) I heard that some of the keyboard issues maybe due to software bug and/or the new keyboard mechanism, which requires more break-in…

My 5th was delivered today and back in the box after 5 minutes, the "return" key was completely stuck. It took 15 seconds to pop back out after pressing it. tried wobbling the key a bit, but it didn't help at all.

What type of keyboard did you guys have the issues with? Mine is the Dutch (same as UK) layout.

Anyone up for a 6th  seriously I know forums attract those with issue, equally I don't recall as many keyboard issues. You guy`s dealing with 4-5 bad units need to be mailing Tim Cook about sorting out this nonsense, pretty sure one of the executives will pick up on that one...

tcook@apple.com

This is why I like to buy directly from the Apple Store or approved reseller, as it gets embarrassing real fast when dealing with issues like this and you will get resolution rapidly.

Ha, thats exactly the first thing that I did after I put it back in the box.

Yeah I would love to buy it in a physical store, but it's the 1.3ghz :/

:apple: Rightfully so, I have no issue with Apple`s pricing, equally I expect the best "out the box" not a trail of non functional Notebooks and associated excuses.

I went for the 1.2 as I need the 512 storage, 1.3 is not a big difference and I will move to Skylake on release, and truthfully I don't need the hassle, nor do I have the patience to deal with it, as my Mac`s are integral to my living, and fooling about with poorly QC`d product only cost me time & money...

Sad face, I think I'm having this problem too on a 2016 MacBook. For me, it happens with the '/' key. I have to hit it either really hard, or dead in the center. If it's anywhere ever so slightly off-center, it doesn't register. It clicks well all the time, just doesn't register.

It makes typing a pretty unpleasant experience, as every time I hit that button it often doesn't register and I have to try again a few times, and it breaks the flow of what I was typing.

Gonna see what'll happen next. Everything else about it is absolutely PERFECT.

If you can demonstrate the problem to a Genius bar employee they'll almost surely replace it.

Well I had this problem with my A key from time to time. I tried everything but it still got stuck, it felt like something was stuck under it. So i tried blowing air, worked for a little time but the key had a different sound then the others. So today i just smashed my hand over the keys around the A key and now it works and it feels like the others. I wonder it maybe these keys is not properly pushed in to place ? maybe, it was weird anyways. Now it feels much better so hope it was a fix. I do have warranty but send **** in to online stores is something I hate. Takes so long time before you get it back... anyways, you could try to smash the key in to place if any of you have similar problem :)

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) . I am having the same set of issues with my laptop keyboard sticking and battery draining fast. I called Apple support and took it to my local support store and still no help. They waited till my warranty as ended to tell me my warranty is Up. I am so Pissed off at APPLE...
