I love my new wired keyboard. I would have gotten the bluetooth keyboard, because I dont use the keys that left out on it; I dont want to wait, though, and I'd rather not pay an extra 20 bucks. Still, this keyboard is really nice. I type on it faster than I did on my other keyboard. I still make many typos, though.

The only problem I have is that the Expose' and Dashboard keys do not work at all. I dont really mind cause I use the mouse button.

So I bought an apple ultra thin keyboard from the SF store on Sunday. Went home and played around a little bit. Indeed, it's a sexy bitch, but it doesn't support iPod (USB ports).

Today, I went to the apple store in Sacramento.

The apple dude: "yeah, our new keyboard with USB 2.0 supports iPod."
Me: "could you show me? Here, i have my iPod with me."
The apple dude: "sure" 5 seconds later "mmm... i think the left USB is 1.0, let me try the one on the right" 5 seconds later "let me double check with someone..." etc.

False advertise. Period. It doesn't work with my iPod nano / via the SR 2.4 MBP. The store manager said: "the keyboard (iPod) works with the new iMac only." Then I plugged in the new iMac keyboard. Oops, it doesn't work.

I questioned her: "why is the company doing this? False Advertise?........" She apologized again and again. So what, she didn't design the keyboard, she didn't compose the advertisement online.

"Two USB 2.0 ports provide high-speed connectivity for your iPod, Mighty Mouse, digital camera, and other USB-based electronic devices. Yes, we did think of everything."

For good tactile feedback, buy one of the modern offspring of the IBM Model M-keyboard. Not only do they have superior tactile feedback, they are also built to withstand a nuclear war.
Which is why you don't need to buy a new one. Just keep your eyes peeled at garage sales or thrift stores for a genuine original. Since they ARE indestructible, a little cleaning and you've got your keyboard for the next decade +. :)

Or, you could always go here.

I tried one out again...the keys feel weird....that plus the lack of numberpad on BT model, makes me less willing to upgrade.

But I bet I will before the year is out
