New leather and silicon cases up at Apple for XS and XS max

Forest Green really does stick out for me, I think this will be very popular! My local Apple Store said yesterday and also this morning "Available October 10" (While the rest of the cases said Available Sept. 20), that has been changed back to the 20th though.

I did buy my first leather case for my iPhone 8+ exactly one year ago, - Midnight Blue. It was slippery at first which worried me, but after a few weeks 'breaking it in' it was fine.

That case was great up until this past July. I can't explain it...I got a few drops of rain on it coming out of a store and, it completely messed it up, it was almost like a brief acid drizzle! (I know water and leather don't mix, but this was just odd) The inside of my pocket was blue dye, my hand was blue, some blue dye on my shirt...big mess. I tried to clean it with a leather conditioner and it did nothing except wipe more dye off. Beats me, it was freakish

So..that may be a concern with these colored leather cases. Still, I may give into the green.

And I STILL like the Apple Silicone because it's amazing grip.

Has anyone confirmed/denied yet that the Xs cases will work on the X? If not, looks like slim pickings for the X model if you want an official Apple case.

DK. In the past I was able to order and receive the case prior to receiving my phone

I wonder when they will be available?

The Apple stores near me claim "Available Sept. 20" I wouldn't be surprised if they were available by Wednesday.

Maybe also check Best Buys, I remember seeing some new cases for the X, few limited Apple colors this time last year when I was looking for a case for my iP8+ - even when the X wasn't available until Nov 3

There is something about the Nectarine Silicone Case that I think I like, but I feel like I need to see it in person first. I haven't seen anyone else mention they like it. Will Definitely be picking up a Forest Green leather case on Friday though.

Even looking at the specs on Apple's website, the size is identical. I read above the camera bump is larger, sticks out more? I simply don't know, I just haven't read anywhere that the "bump" sticks out more. If Apple made the camera bump any larger, these cameras would act like a darn tripod.

Arghh! I always wanted a forest green.....but just wish it was silicone!! Hopefully, they release a green silicone version.

Honestly, not super exited about the silicone color options. I feel like the leather cases received a much better launch color selection.

If I get the Xs, I'd probably grab the Blue Horizon, but I'm not sure how close that is to the Blue Cobalt, which is what I have for my X.

If that green was in silicon, wouldn't totally get it :-(

Hm. Once again the Forest Green case has been pushed back to Oct 10th again, ALL stores now show 10/10, even looked at LA, Chicago, NYC (As of 12:45am Tues.) Odd, it was like that this morning, then changed ned to Sept 20.

If it's delayed, that kind of stinks.

...no wrap around bottom protection on both Apple leather & 'sillycone' cases are a total deal breaker...why they still continue w/that inept strategy baffles me...lotta aftermrkt choices w/better design & cheaper prices to pick from...ok, i'm leaving now...

Nice! Did this come in the mail, or did you find it in store? I've seen a FEW that found it in the stores already. I'm not 100% totally trusting the Apple site "Available on [Date]" I saw the screen protector for Belkin last night on the Apple site, it had a In Store Oct 31, then this morning it's now Nov 1. Just a lot of odd dates, random changes every few hours.

The one Apple store is a few miles away so I may just walk in and see if they have anything. Right now I NEED a case before Fri. Best Buy options...so far are eh, look like junk to me, some are $50 and Im not impressed.

Amazon...I guess I snoozed on that. Earliest delivery on cases I see on the site is Monday the 24, Even Wed. 25th

It appears that there is some slight gap, though, around the camera.

*EDIT* Upon inspecting my iPhone X with Apple Leather Case for iPhone X, that ever so slight space appears also.

I always go first thing into the Apple Store the mornings after the cases go on sale because they have stock (just sometimes not out on display, so you have to ask for it). I feel that they always push the "Available on [Date]" out until shippments fall below a certain percentage of stock, and then they advertise as "Available Today"

I get you on this one but my guess is they don’t want to block compatibility with accessories. I haven’t used silicone but like everything else about the leather case. If I could find one that was thin, had colorful option, metal buttons, and full protection I’d probably switch. Apple case has three of the four.

I’ve also found that, since I frequently remove and install the case, the open bottom makes that process much easier. And finally, haven’t really noticed any excessive wear on the unprotected bottom and have been using the Apple leather case since the 6.

at first I really liked this but now I am going to get the lavender gray. Seems less distracting when I watch videos or play games....
