Dont you Mini lovers think apple will replace it with a anotherpod thingy

if this is true ill be highly interested, all i ask is firewire since we know we will never get esata and well thats really all there is to ask for, also dont only give me display port, i need dvi
If the new Mini only has a display port, I think its doomed. Your telling me your gonna get the 24 LED monitor to go with this ? Who in their right f ing mind would do that?
Can you have output for Display Port and DVI ? I don't know. I was thinking of getting a Mac Mini to share the 20" ACD I just got with my MBP. Now i'm thinking of taking the monitor back since every freaking new Apple product will be using this Display Port.
Unless they make a smaller LED display thats more affordable.

You'll need a Display Port to DVI (or VGA) adapter...
You might try an adapter like these:
DisplayPort to DVI

or DisplayPort to HDMI

Yea, but where can u get a DVI to Display Port? U can't. 2nd, won't the adapter downgrade the Display Port technology?
Look, I understand the advantages over DVI and its royalty free, but why wouldnt u release an adapter with the new monitor? It boggles the mind. Think different? How about just think?
Neither of these products are compatible with the new Macs, as it is a "Mini" display port and as of now, the only one of its kind.
Giving it away would diminish it's exclusivity.
First it isn't impossible for Apple to have a Display Port to DVI adapter ready to go with the Minis replacement. A second possibility is that the new Mini will be offered sans power supply, thus the new display would power it. This could help Apple lower the initial price. A third possibility is that Apple ships the Mini with two built in ports, if they did this though I suspect that the second port would be HDMI.If the new Mini only has a display port, I think its doomed. Most like you can have the multiple outputs though if Apple is really going consumer with the Mini an HDMI port along with Display Port makes more sense. Can you have output for Display Port and DVI ? I doubt Apple will make a smaller monitor. They might make one without the built in laptop supply though. Even if Apple doesn't the industry is slowly switching over to Display Port anyways. The alternatives will come and considering Apples past marketing practices I believe they will be counting on those alternatives.Unless they make a smaller LED display thats more affordable.
Right off the bat you have to dazzle us with your ignorance. No computer is perfect and in the Minis case it is an old less than perfect design.Apple doesn't need to change anything. Mini is perfect as it is.
Sure you would, most likely with your parents money. Apple has never been about exclustivityBut if they put up the price up a tad higher to make it more exclusive I would buy a couple more in a heartbeat.
Obviously you do not know the history of Apple computer nor the sorts of people that it offered computers to. Apples pricing history is more about survival than it is about being exclusive. The fact that they are now the only desk top alternative to MS powered products says more about the management and the products they have created then it says about being exclusive.I don't know why everyone thinks Apple needs to make cheap computers. Apple is the Ferrari of the computer world.
Again you demonstrate a lack of knowledge about the companies history and the people it has and continues to sell product to.Extraordinary performance at extraordinary prices. It's a luxury item for the rich and privileged. Not something that everyone should have.
Most people I know buy that Honda because they know deep down that it will last a lot longer with far fewer troubles than the Ferrari. A products expense has never been an indicator of it's quality, durability or overall performance.Do you see people complaining to Ferrari that their cheapest car F430 is too expensive? No, they go and buy some ****** Honda.
Whatever car Ferrari brings out, whatever price, it will sell out. Whatever hardware Apple brings out, whatever price, it will sell out.
We should know by MacWorld. Apple will need the adapters to hook up the new Mini to older monitors, as well as users with the new MacBooks who want to as well.
Apple doesn't care to design or provide those because it's not beneficial to them. Let's face it too, how many people would buy them if they were available? I'm guessing a very small number of people.

In any event I still don't understand what the hell is wrong with you people here. Technology maches on and either Apple keeps up or they disappear. It is like nobody on this forum learned anything from the PPC days!!!
Right now I have an old ViewSonic monitor with a VGA connector. You don't see me whining about not being able to plug that straight into the DVI connector on my MBP. Nope won't do that even though the monitor was one of the better available at the time. Technology maches on.
Most like you can have the multiple outputs though if Apple is really going consumer with the Mini an HDMI port along with Display Port makes more sense.
As to taking the monitor back for no reason other than you THINK you made a mistake - I can't support that!! I just think it is sleazy to saddle the rest of us with the expense of your return because you screwed up.
I doubt Apple will make a smaller monitor. They might make one without the built in laptop supply though. Even if Apple doesn't the industry is slowly switching over to Display Port anyways. I'm not trying to be rude here but I have little tolerance for people that go out and buy stuff and then a day later claim ignorance about what is happening in the industry and then go into a panic about returning said item. At the very least it is foolish and in this economic climate a little stupid.
The question I have is this: would you go out and buy a car so rashly and then drop into panic mode realizing that the new models are coming out in two weeks time? Further would you attempt to return the car to the dealler? It was your decision to enter into the contract so how is this any different. The same thing could be said of a lot of expensive consumer items, for example DSLRs or washers and dryers.
Of course your options may be severly strained by dealer policies that may include significant penalties. Rightfully so as such behaviour can lead to the failure of a business. It is just a shame in my estimation that everybody has to suffer because people like you run Around expecting free use of a product until the new model comes out.

WTF?!? no new Mini, WTF Apple?? How much longer are you going to make us wait? I'm not saving up any more more money to buy up, so don't try that move, I used to be salesman I know that trick...I've put off buying for the last two months for today. My last BRAND NEW, unused, new to me, never been used by anyone else, Mac was a, ahem, Macintosh Classic...
