Apple's new Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR became available to order last week and, on schedule, the first deliveries to customers have begun. The photos below were shared by MacRumors forum member K. Johansen from Oregon.

As suspected, it appears the new Mac Pro is only assembled in Texas for orders placed in the United States, Canada, and other countries in the Americas. French blog MacGeneration has confirmed that a new Mac Pro delivered to a customer in France today has fine print indicating it was assembled in China.

The new Mac Pro starts at $5,999, while the Pro Display XDR retails for $4,999.

Shame assembly for Europe was not done in Cork, Ireland. Many of my older Macs were assembled there from my Power Macintosh 8600 to G5 Quad.

Even custom spec iMacs were assembled there until very recently (or still are?) so sad to see they couldn't make better use of the Cork plant here.

11k for a base computer... yikes..

The base model is not $11k, actually. Plus, for the people this machine is targeted at, it’s actually not as outrageous as everyone says it is. It’s cheaper than some other computers with similar specs, and the build quality and performance are awesome. I wish people would stop complaining about the price, because for people who need this Mac, it’s not bad.

No need to exaggerate. The base MacPro is $5,599.00.

With respect to this MacPro story, how are taxes avoided/not being paid?

making ONLY their lowest selling item in USA (and apparently only ones being shipped in USA), the rest of their product line in China. Tim Cook invites president to tour USA facility as if it hasn’t existed prior to the presidents tariff initiative.... to win favor.

Again, the question was how is Apple engaging in tax avoidance by having some MacPros assembled in the United States?

Also... Tim Cook never claimed Apple's US assembly contractor never existed before the new MacPro. That was the current president's claim and lie.

Interesting that a product assembled in and shipped from China, costs a UK buyer £2,000 more for the base Mac Pro and XDR Display (with stand) than it does for a US customer.

Prices quoted in the U.S are shown without tax as opposed to quoted prices outside the U.S are shown with VAT included. The U.S still has to pay sales tax.
