I don't think they've been funny for a while.
More like 'Point Made. Can we please do something else now?'

That's because you've already joined the "cult" (you're posting on MR so I think that's a fair evaluation) and these ads aren't directed at you at all. It's like with cell phone companies - the newest customers/switchers are more important because once you have someone they are less likely to switch back. Especially in this case since the OS is so much better that you'd have to be a sado-masochist to think about reverting back to Vista.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5B108 Safari/525.20)

I really liked these. I think this is one of the best new lineups in a while. Calming Teas is my favorite in this group.

Apple should provide the calming teas 4-pack for free to all iPhone 2.0 users.

Something to relax you while you are waiting for the 45 minute sync to finish.

Am I the only one who thought the Tea was the best one?

"Oh so you're fixing the problems with Vista?"
"No, I'm making them easier to live with."

I've heard suggestions from a billion posters suggesting they show OS X...I just don't think that would soak in to the audience, most of the stuff we do in OS X can be done in Vista. Apple is trying to get it out there that OS X doesn't crash and Vista is a pain in the ass to deal with and the services they offer to ease people from PC->Mac.

Agreed. The whole point of the ad's is to personify pcs and macs, making it easier to illustrate the point they're making. By doing this, you're able to get a message across much easier within 30 seconds.

For most people, windows and mac look the same: icons, folders, fonts, etc;. You have to figure out a way to show that using a mac is better; hence, these ads.

I know the ad's are getting long in the tooth, but they're some of the best out there for any company.

???

I've been a member of the "cult" for years before the first commercials aired. I thought they were hilarious. But more recently, I think they're running out of ideas and scraping the bottom of a barrel.

But of course they're on a role right now and they don't want to give it up. Some people are so close to the edge, they need just one more commercial, no matter how minor and unfunny, to push them over the edge and get a Mac.

Honestly, do you have any other ideas for good commercials? They've already covered how easy it is to connect things (the one with the japanese girl representing a foreign camera,) and time after time have compared how PCs easily crash and get viruses.

Oh! I know a commercial I'd love to see! I'd love to see one with Mac playing a game with PC, then something happens to PC (hackers, crashed, IDK,) and he loses because of it. But of course that's not happening for a few more years because PC still has far more exclusives than the Mac has cross platforms (Blizzard and id seem to be the only major cross platform computer game companies... PC has all kinds of exclusives like Valve (Portal = Best computer puzzle game ever, it's the only reason I use Boot Camp.) and... well... I'm sure they have others... I try to avoid articles that talk about how much better PCs are for gaming...)

In my experience it's quite the opposite. I, honestly, can't recall the last time Leopard crashed on my 12" PB. In fact I don't know if it ever has. Now compare that to my Windows box - takes an eon to start up even tho all the hardware runs circles around my PB and still freezes and craps out on occasion. I don't do that much with my Windows box but the experience is still annoying. Not to mention I had to buy a new audio card because a required Vista update killed it (I tried reverting to the old driver, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, forcing the BIOS to use the onboard audio - basically everything I could think of and nothing...)

Using both XP / Vista and Mac OS X, and Windows Server 2003 / 2008 and Mac OS X Server, I can't remember the last time any of the above operating systems themselves crashed. I'm not counting BSODs or Kernel Panics that I caused by fitting faulty hardware or doing something really stupid with driver code or whatever. I've seen bad drivers and odd application behaviour (quite a lot while testing Vista x64 at work actually) but no real "my OS just died" issues.

I gave up on Vista and went back to XP because Vista just doesn't feel right. It has a very awkward fit and finish compared to XP. I'm going to keep using XP and OSX at home until I can get everything I need to do out of Windows, and at work where Switching just isn't an option, I'm going to hope like hell that Windows 7 is actually usable.

6100 was more of a cake box but the original LC, LC II, LC III, and Quadra 605 now there where "pizza boxes" with flip lids and all. "Tim the Tool Man" had one back on his desk in the entry hall of "Home Improvement".

Almost every product Tim used from Binford was a "6100".

I am surprised that Apple would actually run the "Pizza Box" ad with their buy a Mac and get a free iPod touch promotion for college students, it just seems ironic.

I am not certain why this would surprise you. The TV ad and the promotional campaign work together for college students. They have a decision to make before the upcoming enrollment. Rather than choosing a (Dell pizza box laptop) PC, Apple is encouraging them to select a Mac (sweetening the deal with "a slice of pizza").

Ads should establish a brand and evoke a favorable emotion when one needs to make a decision or has opportunity to see the promoted product. These ads are designed to make people laugh at their decision to choose PC over Mac - possibly breaking away from the norm and enjoying a Mac. Sometimes corny execution is part of a brilliant strategy. Pizza Box and Throne are my favorites.

Free pizza is still better than the good ol' free tee-shirt, right? BTW, I have never seen free pizza in conjunction with a computer in college.

Is there any place to view these ads on the iPhone? I am at work and the I cannot watch them here. I went to the Apple website and on my phone it said that it wasn't the right file.

I also think these are getting old. They were great and funny at first but i think its time for a whole new ad campaign.

I am so tired of people saying they are tired of these ads. If you are tired of them, shut up we know you are. BUT, that Pizza Box one was absolutely HILARIOUS. It almost seems like they got better/funnier writers for these three ads.

They're on YouTube. Search for "get a mac ad pizzza" and you'll see a couple of users who have uploaded all three of the new ads.

Wait...hold on. In a market in which the options for the average consumer are Windows or OS X, you think that Apple should apologise for MobileMe (which doesn't affect their operating system whatsoever as it's a separate service) and to say 'we apologise that the repair centre that swingerofbirch uses isn't able to fix the problem he is having'. Is that right?

Hmmmm...
Exactly. Apple is not forcing him to use that repair centre and not everyone has had continuing problems with Mobileme. Apparently, there was an outage a while back but I did not notice because I guess I had better things to do rather than checking my email every five minutes.
