Christ man what is with apples Mac updates lately. The newest air hasn't even been out a year.

I can't understand all the hype surrounding the triple camera. I've owned 4 different iPad models since 2010 (currently an iPad Pro 12.9") and can count the number of photos I've taken with all of them together on one hand. As far as I'm concerned any of the rear cameras are a waste of engineering time, space that could be used by a larger battery, and money spent on precision components.
To be fair, I use it (and know many others who do too) as a mobile document scanner - it helps that the camera is so good now. The new rumoured triple lens setup is also meant to include a time of flight sensor too, which would help for AR and could enable new ‘pro’ apps for sectors such as architecture/construction. It’s not just a better camera for taking holiday snaps.

Just bought the base MBP. Thought they would hold off any launches for a few months. If they refresh the Air then I wonder if the 13inch MBP will be next day?

I doubt this. I think with the COVID taking spotlight all the time Apple will not have an easy time to market something so why bother? Also, do you think that people are in desire to buy products when this madness is going to hit the fan?

I dunno. People who buy gear include people who get to work from home or may have been told to work from home right now. So they could still be feeling like the billpay routine is under control and they're spending all day online reading news updates right now anyway. So they're one tab away from the Apple Store with plenty time to click their way through the specs of a new offering and order it online.

Any chance for a MacBookPro 13-inch as well?

I agree, especially with many European students who are currently under lockdown. They may need better computers for online lessons and exams using webcam.

How about the iMac?

Comet Lake-S doesn't seem to be shipping until around April. Maybe they'll announce it for preorder, though.

Try 13” with a Core i5-10210Y, Intel is guaranteed, Apple isn’t moving to AMD anytime soon.

You really think they'll go with another Amber Lake*/14nm, rather than Ice Lake?

*) Intel oddly calls it that. Others seem to call it Comet Lake.

It would be weird for Apple to update the MBA with nothing more than a refreshed keyboard. It would bring attention to and make valid the claim that the butterfly keyboard was flawed.

That's essentially what the 16" refresh was.

Other than the tiniest of tiny screen size bumps, it's a 2019 15" MacBook Pro with a fixed keyboard.

If the tipster last March was anonymous, how do you know the new anonymous tip is from the same tipster?
They could have referred to some bit of information they used last time that wasn't public/published - if I send you an anonymous tip and say, "I'm going to say rhinoceros in any future communication", and then you get a tip now that says "rhinoceros"... it's probably the same person.

And better thermals. And much better GPUs. And faster RAM (2667 vs 2400). And higher SSD options. And a bigger battery.
So, exactly the same, then? ;)
