New Macbook Airs are up on Amazon (avoid sales tax)

I actually just ordered my new MacBook air base 13" with 8gb of ram from bhphoto today! Being able to get AppleCare at half price was what convinced me to go with them...

i bought mine at amazon, 12 months no interest. but now i want 8gb and they don't carry it. neither does Best buy which is offering me 10 percent off (plus tax, no tax at amazon) and 18 months interest free. i spoke to amazon today and they won't match the best buy savings which amounts to about $45. it seems only b&h has the 8gb base 13" but they only have a six month no interest. i have another two weeks before i have to return mine to amazon so i'll see if best buy comes up with the 8gb version. apple of course has it and they have 12 months but you have to pay FULL price PLUS tax. not worth it.

Really anyone can get the student discount, it's really based on the honor system, you just have to agree that you are buying for a student and you get the discount.

just order from the apple student store. in CA the total comes out to 1344 for the base +8gb. sell the 100 itunes gift card for about 80 and your total cost comes out to 1264, cheaper than B&H.
