Just received the PochetteGavotte sleeve I ordered. Feels like a cushion for my Macbook and it fits perfectly ! :D

Got one of these for sale if anyone is interested.

Bought the Glossy fully body protection skin from BestSkinsEver, I didn't use the inside trackpad/handrest as it won't be getting used much there, just wanted to protect the outside.

Went to my local apple store which was a zoo as usual.
Had a non existent selection other than an old school neoprene sleeve.
Blasphemy.
Then an attendant offered to check the back and returned with both colours of the Incase icon sleeve, grey and black.
Ofcourse to match my space grey 1.3g (although it's vinyl wrapped) I grabbed the grey one.
Not bad for 70 bucks so I have something to just toss in the briefcase.View attachment 577332View attachment 577333
Which "vinyl wrap" do you have here? Thx!

Just got the brand new Incase Icon 12" and the sleeve is terrific, very happy. The MacBook fits snugly inside and there is about 1/3rd of an inch of padding running around the perimeter that has a firmness to it, it's not a floppy sleeve. The magnetic closure is very cool and very sturdy, no more zippers to contend with. It's very thin and slim, looks great, and for my purposes in a hotel room safe it's going to be perfect.

Highly recommended.

Sorry if this was answered before but how does everyone feel about the magnetic clasp on this case? I've been thinking about this case for awhile but I guess I've always been hesitate because of the magnet possibly screwing things up. Maybe this is just an old school way of thinking about magnetics and computers.

There is no issue with magnets, that is an old wives tale from the 80s, the case has been functioning quite well and I recommend it highly.

I just got the Booq Viper and I'm loving it. Didn't need to take my bag to work with me today thanks to this beauty. Nice size and bulk, good padding/protection, and it looks smexy

I just got one of these too and I'm not thrilled about how bulky it gets when the charger is in one of the pockets and zipped up. You see these photos of all these things pouring out of the pockets--which looks great--but closing it is another matter. I am actually worried that the charger could dent the case.

was just about to ask about these issues. seemed odd the power brick was not pictured. don't think the pictures are actually the rmb. you saved me a return...thanks

Ah, yeah I didn't put my charger in there just my iPhone, wallet, pen, keys, and some school papers. I keep a charger at home and one at work, though, so I don't need to ferry it every day. I agree that it's not a good fit with a charger.

Which is the grey bag?

Purchased a packandsmooch case after seeing one on here. Very pleased with it, fits the macbook perfectly. The front pocket is a bit tight for a moleskin A5 notebook but I guess the material will stretch a bit with use.

After a toss up between the Pack & Smooch or FreiWild Sleeve (both made in Hamburg, Germany), I settled on FreiWild's new 12" sleeve for Macbook in mottled grey. (Similar to photo). Arrives Tuesday :)

Made from 100% new wool.

I just needed the thinnest form of scratch protection for my Macbook. A4 paper is 30x21cm and the Macbook is 28x20cm so this is a perfect fit. Got it at the dollar store.

But does it come in "clear" colour ?

And I definitely see a 0.2" gap on the long side, you should send it back for a refund and tell them you want a better fit.

;)

Finally sorted. Carbon skin by XGear and bag by Incase. It is their Sling for 11" MBA but fits the rMB just fine. I love that the charger, extension, and multipart adapter all fit easily in the outside pockets.

How are you 2 getting on with these? I'm looking to go backpacking around and want something protective for my 12" MacBook but fits easily in a rucksack. Anything better than this?

I got my new Macbook three weeks ago and I've been looking for a case since then, with little success so far. I'm going to be carrying it in my backpack while biking everyday, so I need maximum impact protection, not just scratch protection. Ideally it'd also be waterproof to protect against rain or water bottle leakage.

After reading through this thread, I've narrowed it down to three options:
Booq Viper Hardcase 12

Waterfield Macbook Dash sleeve

Waterfield Laptop Sleevecase

I think I prefer the Viper sleeve as it seems to offer more shock protection than the Waterfield sleeves, however shipping to Canada is almost as much as the price of the sleeve (40$). So I was wondering if anyone was aware of a similar sleeve, or if this is the only one of this sort available right now. For those who have the Waterfield sleeves, how much shock protection does it offer?

Im still using the Waterfield Macbook Dash sleeve. Best case I've ever had.

Highly recommend the Incase Icon reinforced neoprene sleeve for the 12" MacBook. Very light, very protective, sounds perfect for your needs.
