So we all saw the rumor earlier a few weeks ago regarding the 'Early 2016' reference found in OS X that suggests at least the Macbook will receive an update sometime in Early '16 (aka April). Do you all think we will see at least 1 updated Macbook in Apple's notebook line before the end of the month?

We won't know until Apple updates the lineup.

If there's no update, then there probably won't be one until WWDC (or shortly after)

According to the votes and what we have been following, it is not looking good. I am hoping for at least a WWDC update at the latest. Right now, the rMB would serve just fine if I decide to move on the decreased pricing, but me being me, I would rather have the latest since I upgrade every 5 years or so.

I hate waiting as much as everyone on here. My current 2011 11" air's battery is awful as well as the screen once you compare it to retina, but it does everything else great.

Look at the worldwide delivery dates of the 12" MacBook on apple.com (and apple.com/uk apple.com/de etc) and you will notice that the 'old' 12" MacBook is only 'available' for delivery on Wednesday while other Macs are available for Tuesday delivery ;) That means that there will be a refresh of the 12" MacBook series on Tuesday I guess.

I WANT this to be true... Interesting find!

Also noticed Best Buy didn't have certain models. Inventory clearly dwindling. Tuesday we shall hope!

This is the most likely outcome, except I think if it happens, it will be on Thursday or Friday, not Tuesday.

Where I am, you can get almost every type of Mac, both standard and customized options, delivered by Wednesday using the "fastest" shipping option.

However, the only option for the rMB is standard shipping, delivering on Friday. Absolutely no option for shipping besides "Standard".

I suspect refreshed models are probably on their way to Apple stores already, and it will be a silent update. That means most likely just a refresh of the CPU. Anybody who orders one today, will likely get a refreshed one on Friday in the mail. The newer CPU will mostly be noticed with an increase in battery life. Some may like the marginal bump in CPU and GPU, but most probably won't care (they are more likely to care about their battery lasting longer though.)

That other metal injected hinge business being spoken about elsewhere ... I doubt it's for a redesigned rMB. I suspect that if true, it's more likely to involve either a redesigned Air or Pro that will probably be announced this summer.

Finally good news... yeaaa

In Switzerland it was for sale for 999 Franken, too.

And in germany you can get every mac on tuesday, but not the macbook 2015 retina - :) thank you for this find!

Never happen.....
If you order a specific model and configuration Apple will never deliver something different that is <supposedly> a better machine. Apple will either deliver that very model you ordered or cancel your order and make you place a new order.
For various reasons an "upgraded" model may not be an upgrade to certain users that placed their order based on certain criteria and specifications.

As far as I can see, the processor generation is not listed in the specs though - only its speed in mhz. if it were a straight switch from Broadwell 1.1 to Skylake 1.1, the description would be accurate for both computers.

Not really having followed this potential update, I strolled into Best Buy yesterday to buy to buy one. They were all on display, all marked on sale. When we'd picked one out, they came back with the news that they were out of all colors and variations, and that no other local stores had any.

The person who told me this said it was probably "because they're releasing the new one really soon," and while I'd certainly never use that as compelling evidence, it may be something Best Buy is telling their people internally.

Can confirm that Apple Store UK has the 12" Macbook shipping after "1 Business Day", while all over Macbook models are "In Stock". Guess its becoming more and more likely that tomorrow is (finally) the day!

Everything is normal at the Canadian Apple store, and at Canadian Best Buy. Guess it's not coming to Canada!

Incorret. They did just this with a certain Mac Mini model, which had a significantly better processor than advertized, a month before it was announced officially.

If that did happen, it was an anomaly. If you order a macbook today, you would get the model you order. That is like saying if you order an iPad the day before, you will get a newer one instead.

I don't think I'll be upgrading. Nothing preventing me from doing what I want on my first gen.

People who did sell their base how much did you get? I would imagine not much with current sales.

Makes me glad I sold my 2011 air last year for 400 bucks and had 10 percent off not long after launch.

My phone and tablet get the most love as daily drivers. Love my rmb too but some days it collects dust.
