No it's me having to explain something to you that I JUST EXPLAINED. It's not the issue itself that bothers me.

Done crying yet?

You never did say anything other than it was caused by rubber/plastic over the screen. The thing is, someone needs to put that down to the other surface; and the interesting part here is if it is the actual pressure from the weight of the screen pushing on the bottom half of the laptop, or if it is the mass of the rubber/plastic coming down on the bottom half when closing being the issue. That the focus point is where the laptop cracks is completely uninteresting, because we all know that. Design fault it may be, but not everyone is experiencing problems, making it interesting to know why...

Yes exactly but the in the box specs must change then as well

Can it also include hand warmers? My hands get cold sometimes.

Congrats on your new macbook. Mine will hopefully arrive tomorrow though opted for 2GB and not 4 as it though it overkill!

If apple replace cracked cases with applecare, it's not such a massive issue, just a bit of a waste of our time. I try not to wish away my life but roll on tomorrow......

Quality-wise, I must say Dell is a piece of crap. I always thought Dell is good, but I was wrong. My 9 cell (extended battery) lasted only 4.5 hours max on XP, and 3.5 on Vista. And it died on me right after my standard 1 year warranty  Macbook, on the other hand, can last 10 hours if I don't touch it :p 5 hours if I surf with medium brightness, and so on. I always thought Macbook battery would only last about 3.5 to 4 hours since it's not extended or 9 cell or whatever you guys call it. Again, that surprised me.

I hear this often. Dell doesn't make their own laptops. Iirc, Quanta makes them, which is the same company that makes Apple's laptops.

And Dell didn't make your batter, either.

The design is faulty. It's a known defect that, for whatever reason, people continue to try to pin on user error (like the Magsafes that short circuit and spontaneously combust). Apple knows it's a problem, but they don't care enough to fix it. It's a shame, but it's the risk you run if you buy a Macbook. I've got one, and I know it's only a matter of time before mine cracks.
I have had the most macs on here i think, average 10 a year, I have never had a issue with a magsafe, kinda think its the way you care for it!

I know some debt consolidation websites you might be interested in. They also give money management advice. :)

Battery

another thing, why when the battery runs out on the macbook does it shutdown???
my ibook used to go into sleep mode when the battery got to 0% so i had lots of time to plug in the power and get back to what i was doing. Now i loose everything i was doing on the macbook.
reasons?

Duh...

I happen to have the same model as you (Macbook). I LOVE mine, I can sometimes get 6 hours battery if I set the brightness to 2nd lowest and turn off BT. Wireless range is far, far better than expected. The screen could be brighter but that's bout' it. Just thought I'd let you know.

Of course the screen could be brighter...you have your macbook turned down to the second lowest setting.:apple:

The MagSafe is still faulty? I tend to pull it out straight so to prevent any of those short circuit or whatever it's called. I don't know if that helps.

Maybe I should buy Apple Care...

I don't pull on the wire at all. I just "rock" the square bit to remove it from the Macbook. When I remove the magsafe, I NEVER touch the wire. Period.

Yes, get Applecare, but get it off ebay. Far cheaper, and I had no issues registering mine.

Man, it's hard to believe that my precious Macbook is almost a year old! Still in pristine condition, no yellow, no cracks (just close the lid gently, don't just let it "snap" closed!). Also, keep your wrists off the casing while typing!

Awesome keyboard, and yes, the KB does "loosen up" over time. It's honestly the BEST keyboard I've ever used. Love love love the feel of it, and there's no finger fatigue at all.
