Anyone know how the RAM is configured in the 27"? I'd like the option to EVENTUALLY go up to 64 if need be, but not sure if I want to go 64 now. If i get, say, 32 now…how is it situated? Is it one riser full, and the other empty? Or 16x16? Which would mean to eventually go to 64 I'd have to buy all new DIMs. Or is it one riser of 32?

Make sense? Thanks in advance if anyone knows.

If you think that way, you're never gonna buy a new MBP.

Get one when you want to get one. If you think now is worth it, go for it. There is always going to be something bigger and better next year - that's technology... Might as well wait for 2020 to get a REALLY good one. Much better than the 2017 / 2018 one. ;)
This is very obvious, however there are sweet-spots for buying. Starting to think this year's are the sweet spot.

I haven't had a home computer since my macbook died 6 years ago and I was getting all excited about picking up a new 27" iMac, then I remembered I can't plug my work MBP into it since they no longer have a targeted display mode on them. I guess i'll keep my TB display and wait for a mini update (I'll be disappointed whenever it comes since it'll have a crappy gfx card in it). I don't understand how they can not support TDM anymore, it seems like feature that would be important to a lot of consumers. I also don't understand how apple can say they are committed to the environment while gimping a product that could work for many years past it's usefulness as a stand alone computer.
