Mbp 13" 2.7 8gb

Got my MBP in yesterday.... used a MB before, also a 13"

First impression: way better then my old MB... It plays HD without any pauses or hick-ups in VLC.

In iPhoto however it's even worse then before.... Digital scatter and image that deformed...

Overall I would say: very nice.

Would have liked to get the 15" but while traveling the 13" is easier and lighter. iPad does not cover my needs for this.

Got mine today and it is blazing. Yet temps are very reasonable.

This refresh is a big surprise for me, I didn't expected such a power increase !
I followed last year's (in)famous "I'm waiting for Arrandale" thread, and I must say all our best wishes from that time came true : 4 core, Light Peak (now Thunderbolt) powerful graphic card from AMD with 1 GB GDDR5. Now this high end MBP can compete with Alienware for games !
Ordered mine (15" full option) :)

but there is something really troubling about the thought of upgrading after 5 years to a computer with the same screen resolution as the one I have now.

And why do u need 'more' pixels? the interface would become hard to see because everything would be smaller like the buttons and icons, it would be very impractical, which is why apple hasnt changed the rez in so many years.

Silly reasoning as more is not automatically better, now the 'more' heat and noise the 2011 create!

That is a reason not to upgrade IMO.
