So let me get this straight.
The computer will have a notch The same size as the iPhone 11 and 12, despite absolutely no Face ID or speaker being located there, will be thicker with bigger fans despite switching to Apple Silicon which is known for its efficiency, and will have an all black keyboard housing.
Yeah, I smell bull
I smell it too, but the bigger fans aren't implausible. Even with high efficiency gains, Apple Silicon runs better at sustained loads when actively cooled (see MBA vs MBP comparisons). Larger fans mean more air volume at lower speeds. One of the chief complaints with the outgoing MBPs is high fan noise, especially when connected to external displays. Look at the Mac Pro: the fans are large enough to stay at low (quiet) speeds even under huge loads. Many pro users would be happy if the same were true of the new MBP.

Could potentially happen if the bezels are thin enough… but I can’t see it… also could be to do with the possibility of centre stage coming to the mac maybe… who knows we may get Face ID

I know the name of the website is Mac Rumors, but it's also one of the best or most reputable or well-known Apple news sites out there. From a news or reputation perspective, I really wish MacRumors would stop publishing every rumor that pops up. This one is obviously ridiculous, and then you still have the constant non stop coverage every time Jon Prosser or DigitTimes says anything at all.

This is a rumors site, but as a reputable news site, I wish they would show a bit more restraint and make sure the quality of the rumor is there, meaning it comes from someone with a well-known good reputation or otherwise has good evidence to back it up.

End rant, lol.

Lol, doubt it. When the iPhone got it we found the glyphs for it pretty darn early in the betas. Same with the homepods, airpods, etc.

Considering that the top of my screen is something like this on my 13" MBP ... I would really hope not ...

This is right from the source
"First of all, the display. As you have already heard, the new MacBooks Pro comes with miniLED displays, so all that HDR stuff is present, but whether they’ve got ProMotion or not these sources can’t confirm. Now onto the borders: it seems that even with a notch, these displays still can’t get that 4-borders-equal-width signature look of the newer iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches, as the lower border of the displays is thicker than the rest. Also, the “MacBook Pro” markings there have moved back to the bottom of the machines, à la the 2012 to 2015 Retina display Pros. Then there’s the notch: it’s not the smaller sized ones on the iPhone 13 series, and with all that screen area devoured, it doesn’t house Face ID modules. The new 1080P camera, TrueTone sensors and mic array are there though."
TouchID remains, and now comes with backlight to help you locate it like the rest of the keys. Another change is that the entire keyboard area is black now, instead of just the keys themselves. That’s probably the biggest visual change on the keyboard since the Unibody redesigns over a decade ago.

Thirdly, the return of the kings: NEW MagSafe, HDMI, and SD card slot. Again, Apple caved in and went practical. As rumors had stated half a year ago, the left side of the Mac sports MagSafe, 2 Thunderbolts and a 3.5mm audio jack; the right side presents HDMI, one Thunderbolt, and an SD card slot. In total, you lose one Thunderbolt and gain 3 differing ones. Don’t worry, you can still charge these Macs on either side with USB-C.

Some miscellaneous items: two big fans, thicker, heavier body, less curvy chassis (like other rumors stated), and the packaging features wallpapers with dark areas on top not unlike iPhone XS so that the notch is less obvious. At least tens of thousands of units had already shipped to the States from China.
the screen resolution leaks, which came directly from Apple’s macOS beta files: 3456 by 2234 and 3024 by 1964. Subtract 74 from the height of both of them, and you get a perfect 16:10 display just like all the MacBooks on shelf right now. That 74 is probably the height of the notch in terms of pixels.
OK, OK, OK, fine.
After reading all that, I guess it is quite possible.
As long as Apple does it right, it shouldn’t be an issue.
The three thunderbolt ports was reported on back in July, the 1080P WebCam was reported on back in May or so, even the backlight touch ID button was reported on a couple months ago.
It’s all starting to add up, and I guess it makes some kind of sense.
Wow, didn’t think this thread could completely change my mind from “it’s not happening” to “it could happen,” but here we are

I’m concerned about what the availability is gonna be on this thing, notch or no notch. I sure hope I can get one this year.

Well, I sure hope that this is not true. Removal of a universal port would be a step in the wrong direction. As is MagSafe. Also, audio on the left? That's odd, it's usually on the right.

Strange.. But when you think, then it not disturb any area on the desktop, rather covering part of menu bar in the middle. I think it may look nice. Will see...
Likely Apple save space to make a display taller, not bad at all i will say. Could be a Face ID?

I wouldn't care either way. Would have zero bearing on me getting it or nor. LOL if someone wouldn't buy one of these new laptops because of a notch.

What a stupid rumour.

Bezels won't be thinner than the ones seen on the iPad Pro.

So with that bezel thichness we can easily have FaceID on these Macs without the need for a notch.

Fun fact: I use my Macbook a bit far from my face because I have it side by side with a monitor. If I place my 2021 iPad Pro as far away from my face as my macbook is, the iPad has difficulties recognizing my face and unlocking. But if my put my iPhone (13 Pro Max) at that distance, it instantly works. I wonder if Apple silently improved the FaceID work distance in the iPhone 13 series, and that FaceID tech would end up in a Macbook Pro... Would be cool.
